Covid-19 & Football

I've now convinced myself it's not happening, we're not going to win the league. They will cancel the season and abandon it before we have mathematically won it, e.g after this weekends round of fixtures.

I've also decided that Corona was released in a collaboration between man cheaty when they started to worry they wouldn't win the league, and the supermarkets who wanted to sell more toilet roll.

What's the story behind the toiletroll hysteria in UK? You only wipe your arse as a measure to prevent spreading Corona??

Re. the toilet roll thing. We are actually down to the last couple of rolls in our house but I'm refusing to re-stock for fear of being branded a nutjob hoarder. Everyone has been ordered to multi-swipe per sheet in my household!

Yes, stop fucking eating cats, bats, rats, monkeys and snakes and ban wet markets, you fucking savages, and maybe we can stop zoonotic diseases entirely.

It's not fucking hard, really. China has now apparently banned the trade and consumption of wild animals, so that's a good start.*

*We can deffo trust the Chinese government.
We already knew that.

If they stop eating wild animals altogether then that's a good thing, at least...

Do they have to blow their nose before or after the wiping??

Over here all sportsteam uses sales of toiletpaper as part of finanicing the activities. So any family with kids probably has more toiletpaper in their houses than the firedepartment see as safe and responsible.

Is it better to postpone a few weeks so we can have a parade or play behind closed doors, win it and have no parade?

Yeah so City v Arsenal definitely off, Wolves and United's Europa League matches behind closed doors.

How can they postpone this City/Arse game and then just let our game against Madrid go ahead? It doesn’t make any sense.

Arsenal players were greeted by the Olympiakos owner after the game a week or so ago. He has now announced he's got the virus so the Arsenal players need to wait out the last few days of the 14 day quarantine period before playing.

The toilet roll situation isn't actually that nuts in the UK.

We import 99% of our toilet roll. Stores have approx 1 days supply on shelves. About a week in storage/immediate supply chain. The rest is continually imported on a rolling basis (pun intended).

So any distribution to the supply chain in say Germany, where most of it comes from, would lead to shortages.

In Australia, its just mad, cos they make it in their own country.

I believe it's facebook to blame. The ozzies were bulk buying as they thought it was one of the many products they have to import, even though it's not. Then the news articles about this starting hitting facebook as it's wasn't really hitting the mainstream news at that point - so cue all the facebook retards going out and buying it all up too. And it just escalated from there, and now we have massive shortages and supermarkets are enforcing rationing on any stock they do have.

The bizarre logic even from the ozzies on this one is incredible. If they have to self isolate and can't get out to the shops, they think they will not be able to wipe their arses but will be ok eating magical invisible food. You wont need any toilet roll when you're shitting out the fresh air you've been eating. You don't see anyone in our shops stocking up on long life food, no no, just toilet roll. Retards.

If any premier League players are found to have coronavirus, they should be asked to self isolate in the Everton trophy room.. Nothing gets in there, ideal Safe Zone.. They will have some company at least, in the form of the club's Cuckoo Clock..

Is that true?

Right. Missed that bit. But are we still letting 1000’s of Madrid fans into liverpool?

When I was a kid my mum used to have a huge cupboard full of tinned stuff, mainly driven by fear of the Cold War suddenly kicking off. I kept trying to explain that since we lived close to several airbases our chances of surviving the initial blast or the ensuing wave of radiation were less than zero.

We must be at the top of the food chain here, as the local supermarkets had gigapacks of bog rolls on special offer.

Just been told by someone at work we make 99% of our toilet paper in the UK. Hard to find the reality on Google - anyone know ?

(EDIT: Just read the Telegraph article someone posted above - we are cool).

(If they go the 'closed doors' route, I reckon any smokers over 60 should be allowed free entry ... 🙂 ).

Im not really sure how the Arsenal players are on day 12 / 14 if self isolation, when they played West Ham on saturday, just 5 days ago. Surely they have put the West Ham players at some sort of risk, which wont be known until a number of days from now.
Surely this defeats the whole idea of self isolation.???

To be fair - self isolating half that Arsenal team from playing might actually increase their chances of winning a few games.

They're not in day 12 of Self-isolation, they are just 12 days post potential exposure. People will have shown symptoms of Coronavirus, if infected, within 14 days. So, even though they didn't isolate, they will be shown to have been not infected if clear by Thursday. If so, then they couldn't have infected anyone themselves, ergo West Ham players will be in the clear too.

This.. they didn't know they should have been in isolation.. so they back dated the potential exposure date.

For me it was always the case of when the FA would abandoned games or play them behind closes doors. but always thought that the latter would come first,or at least till a player tested positive for the virus...
As I said perviously, I hope the FA view this is that 2/3 of the season has been played and that just like in F1 if the race has stop then who ever is leading the race is declared the winner
