Coutinho

I think he'll stay, unless Klopp thinks we can do better.
Why should he join Barca to sit on the bench?

Klopp shared his thought's about the player in question...

Getting the best out of Coutinho, or Phil as Klopp calls him, will certainly leave Liverpool in a stronger position.
“Phil is a brilliant player and we don’t have to talk about his qualities,” said Klopp. “Sometimes you have to work really, really hard to make football look easy. That is what he did against Chelsea. It was not a perfect start for Phil, but he came back and he was cool enough in the right moment, to shoot at the right moment. That is his quality of course, but not always is The Lying Rag shining. We have to work hard on days when it is raining for the team.

“I’m not interested in what happened before. I have spoken to Phil, yes of course. But my job is to help him, not to say what he is not doing good. He knows the last three games were not perfect, but he needs the games. He needs the experience in games to feel what is good and what is wrong. This is the perfect example. The start was not good, but then we came back.

“I love this player. Who can’t love Phil Coutinho? I don’t expect all day perfection. I expect you to work and try to get better every day. That is what Phil is doing and what the team is doing. That is how we make the next steps.”

The way klopp talks, it should give players a lift. If the players start believing in Klopp, and want play for him as a team then we'll have a very good team even if the players arnt the best individually.

Hes not good enough to play for Barca, the game against Chelsea was his first decent performance in about 2 months. If he has designs on playing at that level he will need to seriously improve

I would agree at the moment he's not at that level for a Madrid/Barca move. I don't think he played that well generally on Saturday - but popped up with two great goals.
He will probably prove me wrong but I think he's happy here for the time being

I think he will be brilliant for Barca with the movement of Neymar, Suarez, and Messi ahead of him. He will be the perfect Iniesta replacement.

Despite his moments of brilliance, at the moment I think he's too erratic with the ball to fit into the Barca passing style. He could replace Iniesta, but Iniesta does a lot of keeping it simple and retaining the flow.

Not quite ready yet. Another 2 or 3 seasons (he's still only 23!) and then he could be ready. He'd go with my blessing, too.

Why he would want to leave the newly crowned English champions and revitalised champions league contenders at that point I'll never know.

He would have won everything there is to win in the game with the mighty reds and will have deserved a new challenge

I honestly thought watching the game (until the goal) that he didn't care anymore, that his head had been completely turned ... If he can be a 'team leader' - in play, in goals etc - he will be at one of those clubs ... But it won't be this year regardless.

Maybe the pregnant gf has something to do with it

Klopp has been hinting since he got here that some players need to relax as the pressure and frustration has left them trying too hard. I think he was talking about Coutinho in particular and what we saw on Saturday was him trying to relax as opposed to a lack of care.

Hasn't he started off each of the last two seasons slowly, only to become a world beater in the second half ... or is my addled & aged memory misleading me?
