Everyone knew he was moving because out of nowhere he got dropped for 3 games in a row. It was still done quietly with us. No one knew a deal was about to be announced with us.

He can play deeper. Personally I think he's plan B if we can't get Lemar, who definitely is more of a forward player.
Yeah Lemar would be a better replacement.
Coutinho most regularly plays wide in a front 3. With Keita coming, if he was staying I'd say he'd be cemented there most of the time. Therefore Mahrez does represent a reasonable fit for what we're going to be missing with Coutinho.

The 'fab 4' has featured less than a front 3 containing Coutinho. As I said, with Keita’s arrival I imagine we would see it even less.
He is right, it's 19 goals and double digits in assists but it is the French league.
The way I'm thinking, if mahrez and Salah click there's going to be a lot more goals.
Despite both originating from North African countries, I doubt that Mahrez and Salah have a lot in common except maybe their religion. Mahrez was brought up in France, I don't think he even speaks Arabic, also Egyptians and other North Africans don't really get along.
