Coutinho gone. 142m

Winning La Liga now is like winning the SPL. But whatever. If they get a fuckload and have a decent plan for it that includes someone who can slot in the way Mane and Salah have, and gets us a decent keeper, then fuck him off.

Shame coz right now I fancy us over 2 legs against anyone and we got a decent draw in the CL. We could ACTUALLY win it this year.

Paul Joyce in the Times saying that Coutinho is confident he has played his last game for Liverpool

It seems like there is a lot of chat from Liverpool friendly Journos basically saying that he can go at the right price.
It looks like we are inviting a bid from Barca at this stage

It is a very vague article- 'Coutinho is confident'... 'reports from Spain' etc. There's nothing substantial in this at all.

Mental.

I don’t get why we’d let him go now.
It would be a huge risk to let him go in January full stop and an even greater one if we haven't got his replacement lined up.
I hope we have a replacement lined up and that his name isn't Kieta or even worse Lallana

We need replacements lined up first. The price will inflate if we come knocking with 133 million bills in the pocket.

I said a while back that I think his attitude fucked FSG & Klopp right off.

I think the club will want rid at the highest price possible, & I did posit the concept that there is a certain logic in term of long term team building to not finishing this season with a player who is definitely going.

Any achievements this side makes will.kbv have him in the centre of it, then he leaves & that momentum & work is practically undone.

I don't agree with it, cos keeping him may mean we get a better chance at old bog ears once again, but I understand it.

I don't agree with selling him, let alone now, I think it just tells everyone that we're still a club that will repeatedly sell it's best players. And that's not really a healthy state of affairs. Salah would be next, Mane, etc. Even that midfield gobshite going to Juve sends out ultimately the same message. Klopp, for all his silverware and history will have shown he's equally as incapable as previous managers, of keeping his best players.

That said, if standing our ground in the Summer, means we're looking to recoup an extra, say, £50m, then at least that's something.

Old Bog Ears. The Irish equivalent of the European Champions trophy.

Can't see any sense whatsoever in letting him go now. Even if his replacement is as good it's likely he'll be CL cuptied.

The price is £135 million. Maybe klopp has tired of the transfer shenanigans for one window and thinks it's best to draw a line now. I just hope we don't get shafted with a Nunez type player in part exchange.

I think we all are. Its a fucking mess and to be honest when he has done well for our team half of me celebrates for the team and the half is upset because a player who does not want to play for this club has scored. Fuck him we should just get the money. After Suarez and now him I am kinda sick of South Americans playing for us. If all they want in life is to play second fiddle at Barca or Real then i would rather we signed none of them ever again. Fuck em.

South American players will always aspire to play in Spain, it kinda goes with the territory, unless your name is Lucas. Tbf his performances haven't dropped, so it's difficult to hate. The best we can hope for is we agree the deal now for the summer.

Agree the sale now for the summer, make it contingent upon him scoring x goals and adding y assists. Transfer fee goes down $5 million if we win CL, and he gets the difference in a going away bonus.

Selling him now is plain stupid. There's not a single benefit to it. I can't believe our club and manager will be so stupid.

It seems pretty obvious to me that the club are open to selling him this window for the right price, leaving us to wonder why the change in stance.

Two things I guess, the first being the amazing and unprecedented success of Salah, which makes us less reliant on Coutinhos goals. The second is that Coutinho is faking anothet back injury during an important part of the season. His head is firmly at Barcelona regardless of his performances here. I'm guessing the club were hoping be wouldn't resort to these tactics again but here we are.

I don't like any shift in stance and I think we should wait until after the World Cup and encourage PSG to compete.

If we encourage PSG, we could get that DM off them who can't get a game (refuses to use the L word) and still have enough wonga for Lemar.

We should agree to let him go in the summer for a price pegged to the team's performance this season.

Win CL: £120
Win PL: £100
Nothing: £180

About Coutinho. Barcelona will soon make an offer of €110+40. Chairman Bartomeu feels in debt to him for how hard he's trying to go to FCB. Their top players want him. LFC have changed their tone but have not put price to him. They will act when offer arrives. Which it will

What a fucking thundercunt if true. Going down the Mascherano path, acts the cunt, makes more money, wins a ton of shit and then goes off to China to make a shit load of money before retirement.

[article]Writing in the Times, Paul Joyce, who is also well-connected on Merseyside, has announced that Coutinho may have already played his last Liverpool game. He announced:

Philippe Coutinho believes that he has played his last game for Liverpool, but it will take an offer of about £133 million from Barcelona if the Anfield club are to consider letting him leave this month.

It is clear that (Coutinho) wants to leave in this transfer window and a report in Spain yesterday indicated that he had told Liverpool that he did not want to play for them again.[/article]
