Norwich City have completed the signing of Lukas Rupp from Bundesliga side 1899 Hoffenheim for an undisclosed fee.

Speaking exclusively to canaries.co.uk, Rupp said: “I was in the training camp in Marbella with Hoffenheim and then two days later, I’m here so it’s been very quick. But I’m very happy to be here.

“It’s a childhood dream. I was in the Bundesliga for ten years now and it’s a new chapter for me. I wanted to be part of the team here and help the team stay in the Premier League.

“I know Mario Vrancic, I played with him at Paderborn, and from the national team I know Marco Stiepermann.

“It’s the first time that I’ve been out of Germany to play football. But I know this stadium [Carrow Road] already because with Monchengladbach, I had a friendly game against Norwich about seven years ago.

“I’m looking forward to training with the guys. Saturday [against AFC Bournemouth] is an important game and I can’t wait to get started.”

Head Coach Daniel Farke said: “Lukas is a great guy who has a lot of experience. He’s played for some very big clubs in Germany and has a lot of game time in the Bundesliga.

“He’s a versatile player who can play in a number of positions in the midfield and has also played at full-back.

“He’ll be a valuable option for us going forward and is a very good character. He’s an important signing for us and we’re happy that a player of his experience has committed to us.”

Jeison Murillo - Celta Vigo (loan)

[article]Central defender Jeison Murillo is heading back to La Liga as he looks set to join Celta Vigo on loan from Valencia, report Marca.

The Colombian international joined Serie A side Sampdoria this summer on loan from Los Che but he has featured in just 10 matches for the Blucerchiati this campaign.

Since October 30, the 27-year-old has been limited to a mere 139 minutes for Claudio Ranieri’s side
and now he is returning to La Liga.

Ranieri had been unconvinced by the player and despite initially utilising him at right-back, he has no longer called upon him for selection.

Murillo spent the second half of last season on loan at Barcelona but made just four appearances - two in La Liga and two more in the Copa del Rey.

The central defender has represented Cadiz, Las Palmas, Granada, Valencia and Barcelona in Spain and made a total of 71 appearances in La Liga.

Was a free transfer signing. Profit wise a success.

Conor Gallagher - Swansea (loan)

[article]Swansea City has completed the signing of Conor Gallagher on loan from Chelsea for the remainder of the season, subject to international clearance.

The 19-year-old midfielder, who will wear squad number 33, becomes the Swans’ third signing of the January transfer window, following the recent arrivals of Rhian Brewster and Marc Guehi.

As with Brewster and Guehi, Gallagher was part of the England Under-17s squad that tasted World Cup glory under Steve Cooper in 2017.

He joins the Swans on the back of an excellent loan spell with Charlton Athletic, scoring six goals and contributing two assists in 26 appearances and featuring alongside one-time Swansea man Darren Pratley in the centre of the park.

His form saw him named the EFL Young Player of the Month for September.

Gallagher, a boyhood Chelsea fan, has been training with the Stamford Bridge club since the age of six, formally signing for them at the age of eight.

He has worked his way through the ranks, featuring as a box-to-box midfielder and in wide roles.

Having been brought into the England Under-17 squad just before the World Cup, he went on to make one start and three substitute appearances as the Three Lions claimed the trophy.

At club level he was an integral part of the Chelsea Under-18s side that won the quadruple, playing in every game of their successful FA Youth Cup campaign.

Gallagher signed a new deal through to 2021 in October 2018, and was named Chelsea’s Academy Player of the Year for the 2018-19 season.

That same campaign he won his first major honour as a player after being in the Chelsea squad that beat Arsenal to win the Europa League in Baku in May.

He made his England Under-21 debut against Slovenia in October, and has won four caps in all, scoring one goal.[/article]

Steve Cooper making use of his reputation as manager of 2017 U17 World Cup to complete the 3 loan signings this transfer window. Chelsea even recalled Conor Gallagher, who was impressing at Charlton, just to loan him to Swansea.

Jack Clarke - QPR (loan)

[article]JACK Clarke has joined QPR on loan from Tottenham Hotspur for the remainder of the 2019/20 campaign.

The 19-year-old forward, who can play on the wing or up front, came through the ranks at Leeds United before signing for Spurs last summer.

Following his switch to north London, Clarke was immediately loaned back to the Elland Road outfit for the current season.

That loan was cut short by Spurs, however, allowing Mark Warburton the opportunity to bring him to Rangers.

After breaking through at Leeds and making 25 appearances last term – which saw him named their Young Player of the Year – Clarke is now excited about his upcoming spell with the R’s.

“I am delighted and looking forward to getting started,” he said. “Hopefully I can kick on and help the team.

“I like to create chances, take people on, I’m very direct with the ball and love running with it.”

Clarke admits Warburton played a key role in his decision to join QPR, explaining: “I spoke to Mark a fair few times.

“He was one of the main factors in me coming here - in terms of how he wants to play football and how he sees me fitting in.”

Clarke could make his debut this weekend against Leeds, and he admitted: “You couldn’t write it, could you?

“I am just excited to get going and to kick-start things with my new team.”

R’s boss Warburton added: “I’m really pleased to bring Jack in – he is a talented, young, hungry player with lots of energy and there’s no doubts about his quality.

“I am looking forward to working with him.”

Warburton explained why bringing Clarke in was important as he prepares his squad for the second half of the campaign, adding: “Right now we have Ilias Chair, Bright Osayi-Samuel and Ebere Eze doing exceptionally well for us but with injuries, suspensions, form, you need to have options.

“Jack provides that. He can play on the left, on the right, or in the centre so we are delighted to have him.

“Hopefully the fans will see the quality that he has.”

Clarke attracted the attention of a number of clubs, and Warburton believes the education on offer at QPR helped our bid to bring the England U20 international to west London.

“The feedback we have had is very positive,” Warburton said. “Whenever you take a young player you have a responsibility – some work, some don’t, nobody has a crystal ball.

“Certainly the London location, our attacking style of play and having a number of young players developing in the team has made us a good proposition and long may that continue.”

Clarke will wear squad number 47, the same number he wore at Leeds, and could make his QPR debut against his former club when we host Marcelo Bielsa’s side at Kiyan Prince Foundation Stadium on Saturday.[/article]

I'm struggling with Liverpool getting all this praise. I just think the inevitable devastating fall is going to be round the corner.

Jack Robinson - Sheff Utd (£1m inclusive of add ons)

[article]Chris Wilder has bolstered his defensive options with the signing of a proven Championship defender.

Jack Robinson of Nottingham Forest becomes United's second signing of the January transfer window, penning a two-and-a-half-year deal at Bramall Lane, with the Blades paying an undisclosed fee for his services.

Speaking of the signing of Robinson, boss Wilder remarked: "Jack's got a great pedigree and he will make our squad stronger.

"But he isn't just coming in to make the numbers up, it's a specific position in our system and we feel he is the best option for us at this time.

"Jack can comfortably play in a couple of roles and we're delighted to add him to the group. He's got a fantastic attitude and he's ambitious to earn a place in the team."

Warrington-born Robinson is the second youngest player to have played for Liverpool, making his debut aged 16 years and 250 days.

During his time at Anfield, Robinson made three league appearances, but furthered his development with loan spells at Wolves and Blackpool, starting 33 times in the Championship whilst at Bloomfield Road.

In August 2014, the versatile operator joined QPR, but spent the 2014/15 campaign at Huddersfield Town where he made 30 league appearances, prior to returning to Loftus Road.

Robinson went on to feature over 40 times for the R's, before joining Nottingham Forest in the summer of 2018. The 26-year-old has remained a regular in his time at the City Ground, despite numerous managerial changes.

Nabil Bentaleb - Newcastle (loan with option to buy for £8.5m)

[article]Algeria international Nabil Bentaleb has joined Newcastle United on loan from Schalke 04 for the rest of the season, with an option to make the deal permanent.

The 25-year-old midfielder, who represented his country at the 2014 FIFA World Cup and the 2015 and 2017 Africa Cup of Nations, has previously played in the Premier League for Tottenham Hotspur.

He made 66 appearances for the North London club - scoring his only goal against Newcastle in a League Cup tie in December 2014 - before moving to Schalke, initially on loan, in August 2016.

Bentaleb has made 97 appearances for the Bundesliga side, scoring 19 times, and has played in the Champions League for Die Königsblauen.

He told nufc.co.uk: "I'm very happy to come back to the Premier League, especially with a club such as Newcastle.

"The project really interested me. I wanted absolutely to come back to the Premier League. The coach had some trust in me and the club also - I saw that straight away - and I think it's the perfect move for me."

Newcastle United head coach Steve Bruce said: "He's somebody who I paid particular attention to when he was at Spurs, when he broke through and got a big money move to Germany.

"He's played at the highest level now for the last four or five years but he will come in hungry and feeling he has something to prove and will give us the competition we obviously need.

"With the numbers that we've got at the minute, he's got a bit of experience and I think people will enjoy watching him play. He'll come into the squad and I'm sure he'll be a good acquisition for us.

"The fact that he's played in the Premier League before helps, because we know that he can play and knows what the demands of the Premier League are. He's gone from the Premier League to Schalke and played in the Champions League as well, so we're delighted to get him. It's a great signing." [/article]

He's done well to work his way back to the Premiership.
Yeah, glad to see him and Conor Coady playing top flight football

Lazaro - who made his international debut against Iceland in 2014 and now has 28 caps and three goals for his country - started his career with Red Bull Salzburg.

He will wear squad number 23 for the Magpies and is the club's second acquisition of the January transfer window, following Algeria international Nabil Bentaleb, who joined Newcastle from Schalke 04 for the rest of the campaign on Tuesday afternoon.

"I'm very happy to be here and can't wait to meet all my team mates, get out on the training pitch and hopefully get a lot of victories in the future," Lazaro said.

"I've only heard great things about the club. I've had good talks with the coach so I feel very happy to be here now. Those conversations convinced me that this is the right place for me to come."

Head coach Steve Bruce added: "Valentino is a quality player who'll add to us in attacking areas of the field, where we need to improve. He can play in a few positions but he is a natural winger with an excellent delivery.

"We have worked hard to get him ahead of other clubs, so I'm delighted with what we've done. Along with Nabil Bentaleb, he'll give us strong options."[/article]
