We were trying to do a swap with little or no cash changing hands, but Chas doesn't want to go South and is talking to the Barcodes. Allegedly, Ross.Talksport saying Adam could be involved in the deal. Its Talksport though.

Gary Mac was on a free, and Sheringham was some 3 million, and both were classy footballers. The price mooted for Dempsey is way higher, and he's more a hard-working journeyman, who's just coming off of the season of his career.Ross has his graphs on the chalk board and his ruler at the ready, players at their peak are never a good proposition, appaz. Perhaps we shouldn't have bothered with Gary Mac, maybe United shouldn't have bothered with Teddy.
He's 33 and can't play all that much, how much do you think he's worth?
dembele is a great shout - so strong on the ball and great ball control.
RAWK have now renamed their Dempsey thread:
They really are the most irascible people around!
I don't care how old he is, I rate Bellamy and I don't think it's worth losing him for 2m. Extend or let him go for free next season (unless he wants to leave that is).
I don't get the valuation of Carroll in this thread at all BTW. People saying 15M is a good deal and 20M is brilliant ? This is a 21 yr old who finished last season impressively and also looked damned good for England. The fact that he struggled to find form after injury, and to fit into our style of play, doesn't make him a shite player, just one unsuited to certain teams. Are 21 yr old England centre forwards worth so little now ? I thought the 'English Factor' added to someone's value not diminished it.
Aren't AC interested ? Not sure they have a large budget either though.
When I hear the likes of Chelsea, Man U, and even Spurs all fighting for hot shot young players from Brazil and we are not competing for any of these types of players - it kind of worries me how far we have moved down.

LIVERPOOL’S American owners have given the nod for boss Brendan Rodgers to swoop for Clint Dempsey.
John W Henry and Tom Werner would love Rodgers to add Texas-born Dempsey to a revamped attacking set-up – alongside Luis Suarez and new £10.5m hitman Fabio Borini.
And that means the end at Anfield for £35m hitman Andy Carroll – who will discover he has no Kop future in a face-to-face meeting with Rodgers.
Carroll, along with his England team-mates Steven Gerrard, Glen Johnson, Stewart Downing, Jordan Henderson and Martin Kelly, will link up with the rest of the Liverpool squad in Boston a week tomorrow as they start a pre-season tour of North America.
And once they touch down, Rodgers will tell Carroll that he doesn’t fit into his plans.
Carroll’s first reaction will be to fight for his place.
But after making a strong case for a regular England spot with his performances at Euro 2012, Carroll won’t want to be frozen out of club football for too long.
That’s why Fulham will hope he’ll consider a switch to Craven Cottage in place of Dempsey, with a 12-month loan a strong possibility.
Fulham want Liverpool to cough up £10m for Dempsey, 29, who has 12 months left on his contract. But Rodgers is confident that he can get his man for £8m.
