Its basically valuing carroll at 15 million if true. Probably about right in fairness. Not sayin i want it to happen mind
It's probably valuing him based on what Fulham are valuing Dempsey at. So Fulham are valuing Dempsey at £10m, most people on here have said a reasonable amount would be about £20m for Carroll, so they offer Dempsey plus £9m = £19m in their eyes. We'll take it, even though the reason we are taking it is that we weren't willing to match Fulham's valuation of Dempsey as £10m straight. Either way we're losing out and there's some shit fucked up logic in there that we're inevitably on the wrong end of.
I think if we get anything beyond £8M for Andy is a good deal because in reality the mistake (a big f*cking mistake) was ours in the first place for signing him in a rush for £35M. That was a terrible decision by us back then - and it was rushed and mega stupid. Honestly I know he had a good end of season run - but for the most part - he has been terrible for us and requires heavy service from the midfield to score which is not always forthcoming.
As for Dempsey - I am fucking delighted we are signing him, he will be a major success for us, and I wish we had signed him a lot earlier.

That doesn't seem to matter much anymore really. Wigan want £10m for moses and he's on his last year. I guess fulham would rather keep dempsey and lose him for nothing next season if it means they're still in the premiership. Staying in it is worth £50m, so you can't blame clubs really.
Would it really be that surprising? We've already been told (and most seem to accept it) we value Carroll at £15m. This would value Dempsey at £6m which is probably about what I'd expect us to pay if I'm honest. Personally I think £6m is maybe a couple of £m over the odds, but it's in the ballpark.
If it happens I think we could have done worse. We'll effectively end up swapping Carroll for Borini and Dempsey... I can live with that.
No he won't - he is very good, this is going to be a great transfer if it happens.
