Chinese "Devil Virus" - anyone worried?

That comment would escalate the physical assault.

That's disappointing. I was really hoping my covid vaccination would prevent a DNA match should police discover any of the various bodies I've hidden over the years. I deliberately halted the serial killing after my first vaccination. All that pent-up frustration for nothing.

You should look through the history of their fact checking.

If you actually believe any of it you're stupider than me.

I suppose we need to see a study that is peer reviewed before we'd know for sure. At the minute, it's a year old piece of unverified work that seems to be discredited.

By a fact checking website - whose research into the facts involves a phonecall to Pfizer who then tell them what the facts are.

Well, it's not peer reviewed, and it's a year old, so either people don't think it's worth checking, it's not accurate, or...I'm not really sure what the other options are.

Here's a few more people talking about it:

But I'm well aware, you can find anything on the internet to back up any view point...

Yeah, not picking sides on that particular study because I can't be arsed reading them, but the fact checkers are funded by Pfizer and god knows who else.

They also discredited the lab leak theory and silenced anyone who tried to talk about it. Now that looks the most likely cause.

Reuters did that? Do you have a link, I haven't seen it.

I know Facebook fact check is... I saw this video a while ago now, and you guessed it, I cbs watching it again. I can't remember if he specifically targets the Facebook fact checkers, or goes into all other different ones...

I don't know, though, and it's just me postulating blindly, but I wouldn't be surprised to find financial links between pharmaceutical companies and Reuters.

In any case, here's the vid...

I can certainly believe that Facebook isn't about the truth, although I'm not sure I'd be quoting Russell Brand on it. Haven't watched that video, but I'd say his overall point that Facebook's content moderation is fairly biased, is true.

I thought Reuters were pretty universally respected as being balanced, their business model is based on providing facts to news media, for them to make money off, so they're not really about click bait etc, that's left to other media to put their own bias on it. They make money from being as accurate, and unbiased as possible. Doesn't mean they're never wrong of course.

I would like to read where they said that it definitely wasn't lab created. All I've found is them saying, about a year ago, that there wasn't any evidence to back it up at the time of publishing.

In fairness to Russell Brand and his videos on a whole range of different subjects over the past year or so, he goes to pains and great lengths to try and stay as impartial and as objective as possible. He usually just presents the information, along with his sources, and throws a few quips in.

With regards to lab leak theory, plenty of sites like YouTube and Facebook were taking down videos and blocking profiles that posited it as a theory.

I didn't say they weren't, I don't trust any social media sites to be the people putting forward the truth. It's in their interest to be popular, not correct.

I had thought you, or someone else, had said the fact checking from Reuters wasn't to be trusted. Pretty sure they're about as good as there is out there.

Oh no, I don't know about Reuters. I'm just wary of fact checkers in general because of the Facebook fact checkers and their ties to pharmaceutical companies

I know a bird who used to run Snopes and she resigned because their 'fact checking' for Facebook involved getting paid for saying whatever the fuck they wanted.

Why is everyone casually talking about "fact-checking" like it's part and parcel of something. Perhaps I quantum tunnelled into the wrong universe, but there was no such fucking thing as a fucking fact check for all recorded history up to a couple of years ago. Now everyone refers to a fact check, and even believes them, and uses them like an everyday thing. What is this shit? It's a made up fucking thing they rolled out a year or two ago. Are you all fucking nuts?

Checking facts is a new thing? Like, it hasn't being going on forever and ever? Fuck

You're not checking facts, you're checking what someone else who is paid to check the facts for you has to say. So above, the vaccine alters your dna or it does not. Simple question. Nobody bothered to check that, they just posted a link to a fact-checking article. I don't get it, don't you feel ashamed of your own intelligence when you do this?

Not really, you could make the same point for anything, including the original study. If you don't trust anyone, ever, regardless of what they've said or done, there's little point to anything.
