Chinese "Devil Virus" - anyone worried?

Yeah, as I said, I'm not really gonna start dissecting stats and doing mental gymnastics to get my head around why or how.

The fact is, they said, get the vaccine and everything will be sound. Cases will go down, it will stop the spread, everything will be done with etc etc. But that's only partly true.
I don't really want to wade into this discussion either, but I keep hearing about what 'they' said. Who are 'they'? Perhaps we operate in different circles, but I don't remember any sensible people saying the above?

When the vaccines were in development, the initial testing (particularly of the AZ vaccine) showed that they were largely ineffective at preventing transmission, but effective at reducing the likelihood of death or serious illness. I remember laughing at the absurdity of a vaccine that does little to prevent the proliferation of a virus when I read about it. It's one of the reasons why the government's complete removal of any legal obligation to social distance or wear masks upon reopening the economy was so utterly negligent. And why the numbers for the UK are so abominably high in comparison with other EU states.

While there were and are many people spreading disinformation, the truth has always been out there for anyone who cared to look for it. Perhaps you need to review the news sources you read? Because it was clear from the news sources that I was reading what the vaccines could and couldn't do long before they were approved for use.

The likes of Fauci, heads of the CDC, high profile politicians. There's plenty of footage of them on camera saying that kind of stuff

I don't read the mainstream news for exactly that reason

thanks for the link. Can’t see anything about an added ingredient that stops heart issues…?? I’ll have a more detailed look later unless you have the time to point out which ingredient it is. Don’t worry if not I’ll read it again later

Second paragraph under the heading vaccine formulation - thromethamine

What do you think is driving the figures in Waterford?

That's easy, the science changed. That will be the best explanation you'll get. I already have a better one, that took a minute of thought, I don't think I'll share it this time though.

Is tromethamine not a buffer? Is it specifically put in there to stop heart issues?

Good one. In reality you have no idea what you're talking about, on anything, because you don't know how to do scientific research, and therefore you don't know how to interpret a single shred of anything that your beliefs are based on, it's all a matter of faith, of source analysis and fact checkers, like a demented religion, and you can't even see it. It's pitiful in a way.
You've found an enjoyable path to insanity.

Seeing an increase in cases here as well, but that is largely driven by kids that arent vaccinated.
The North of Norway have started its winter season and as concequence there are more cases.
There will be a new wave this winter, no doubt.

There are a lot of cases at the school near us, and kids who have gotten the vaccine are testing negative, and the kids who havent gotten it are testing positive. Same with their parents who have gotten the vaccine. Testing negative although having kids that are infected.

The vaccine is clearly working and makes you less likely to get very sick. There is no doubt about that.

The cases in every age group outside high school have flatlined in the UK for ages. It's kids aged 11 to 18 that are testing positive. They hardly ever get symptoms, but they're tested twice a week

You underestimate how autistic brains work, insanity is just a switch, on, off, wax on wax off. It's amusing how you make a big deal and commotion over it, oh no, he's insane, he's in breach of the medical diagnosis manual subsection E3 aaahh. Lol. Unfortunately for you, many of your problems can't be solved by a non-insane brain, so you'll never solve them, you'll instead accept the L. Whereas I can flip the switch, solve it, then flip it back.

It feels like the assumption that everything will be OK/go back to normal if we get vaccinated is based largely on headlines and decontextualized snippets of what people have said, rather than what they've actually said. Like you, I'm naturally distrusting of people in power, so I'm not going to claim that there hasn't been lies and misinformation. But even in my cynicism and hatred for right-wing politicians and media, I can't relate to this idea that we were all told everything would be OK. Pretty much all the examples I can find of people in power making future projections (including Fauci, who is clearly rotten to the core) are heavily caveated, or based on close to full vaccination of the population. And many of the assumptions about a recovery have been subsequently adjusted following the devastating impact of the delta variant.

I think much of the misleading that you refer to is less in the words that have been used and more in the policies that have been enacted. The government here continues to pay lip service to covid, but has basically removed all of the restrictions which made the public take it seriously. And now they couldn't give a fuck. It's the old cliché of actions speak louder than words.

Ah I saw that but was pretty sure it’s just a buffer. I’ll check it out later. Thanks. Interesting, if it isn’t….

Don’t expect Ross to have spent any time trying to understand it - it’s just the new discussion point in his Facebook group he’s drawing attention to.

I think you'll find that I have made much less of a deal of this than you. Do a word count.

Yeah, thats pretty much the same as here and normally they dont. Though two kids in my daughters class have got it and weren't vaccinated. Both have gotten really sick.

My mate told me that cases in his school accounted for a quarter of all infections in Sussex last week. Weird thing is they don't seem to be transmitting it to their parents etc

That's for intravenous solution, "Each 100 mL contains tromethamine 3.6 g (30 mEq) in water for injection". Would the amount in a vaccine have the same effect? Or is it just in there as a buffer?

I'm pretty sure there wasn't 100mls injected into me when I got my vaccine...

No it wouldn't, and nobody said it's not a buffer. My turn, why would you be reformulating your in-patent drug in order to change the buffer? If I was a consultant, and recommended they go through the revalidation process because I wanted them to use a different buffer to the one they had already approved, I'd rightly be physically assaulted and fired.

Nobody said it's not a buffer, but it wasn't suggested that it was being added as a buffer.

Obviously they changed the buffer for supply reasons, there's a pandemic on...

I can't be fucked trying to find it, but there was a compilation going round of Fauci, that bird from the CDC and a few others specifically and categorically saying, "get jabbed and you won't spread it or catch it."

That comment would escalate the physical assault.

Thats the same as here. None of the parents have gotten sick, even though the kids have been home with Covid for over a week now.
The parents are all vaccinated.
