Chinese "Devil Virus" - anyone worried?

Where it exactly started is still a complete unknown (I think it actually took them ca. 6 years to establish exactly where SARS started). None of those in the market was Patient Zero. The first person in the vicinity known to have caught it hadn't been to the market and lived a couple of bus rides away.

Okay, thanks. I haven't got any personal opinion on it by the way! I'm not pushing the idea that it began in markets or in labs or whatever. I don't really know a lot about China, have never been and chances are I probably never will go.

Pre-CV19 it would have been an awesome place to visit depending on what you like to see / do. Now ... who can say though a degree of normality has returned.

Yes I'm sure. It's not the Covid-19 that would stop me, for the record. I travel to the United States very frequently (and will do so again as soon as I can) and it's hardly been low-level there.

Just never much fancied going to China to be honest.

I've been a couple of times to visit my mate and they've been a couple of the best family holidays we've ever had. Really didn't expect everything to be so laid back and cool. Pubs everywhere and nice places to chill. Ace people. Preconceptions were shattered in my first day in Shanghai, about ten years ago

It's a bit harsh to keep picking on Slough.
.especially when at least half the UK is as bad as it.

Yeah it just depends on what you are looking for out of a vacation. For some things it's awesome for others best avoided.
 
Is there anything in Slough? It's one of those places that I've heard of but I can't think that I know anything about it.

I only know of one woman & one couple - and that's only so the woman could forward her political career for financial reasons and the couple because he is the current major of a major city (so wife follows suit). Any occasional others in the Party I've only met in passing.

In my many business trips to China, I have only met one Communist Party member. None of my cousins and their families are members.

Yeah I've just Googled this as I have no idea how many CP members there are : it seems 90m out of maybe at least 1.6 - 1.7 Billion (actual population and not the census number).
