Chinese "Devil Virus" - anyone worried?

I actually like Jean. It’s one of the big differences between me and my other middle aged mates. They are always trying to get away from their wives. I’m not. She’s great company.

I've got a weird relationship with golf. It's difficult to explain how much it is loved by scousers and scots, and how different their relationship with the game is than the English and yank version

If you've ever played on a public course in Liverpool / Merseyside you know why ... the beer cans are piled high by the tee markers !

Second thing, why has the electrical grid stopped?

Third thing, loads of fat wankers screaming stuff about freedom and how this isn't the war we ordered, walking round with massive guns shooting each other while China laughs it's head off.

We all know he doesn't. His sense of humour is to lie .. and then deny.

Boris lied. Then to avoid being caught he wastes time crafting a carefully worded response, or even takes some substantive actions that have no use but to cover the lie, or he just doesn't show up. This is what he is doing whilst people are dying. A political bullshit artist. Trump doesn't waste his time=money on these games. If the press try to catch him out like a bunch of giggling schoolgirls, "never happened" and that's the end of it.. Play a video of him saying it to his face? Nope, sarcasm. His denials take all of one second, and then he goes back to what the job of a leader should actually be, working for his people, not obsessively trying to manage his image in the media. It's his best quality.

Who gives a shit about Boris ?! Talk about deflecting.

All of one second ? I wonder how long he takes preparing his multitude of tweets. 'Goes back to doing what a leader should do' ? Be a lying, racist, misogynistic, sexually abusive twat that bankrupts his businesses (6 times) ? OK yeah got me there !

Nobody gives a shit about Boris. I was using him as an example of every politician that isn't Trump. The fifteen hours he is at his desk will still be fifteen hours regardless of whether he is a liar, racist, misogynist or abusive bankrupter. None of those things consume his time, they're just characteristics some people think he has.

Whilst Biden was calling him a xenophobe, Trump banned inbound flights from china. That saved lives. Do you think the people who are alive give a shit that it was a racist who saved them? It literally does not matter. The only thing that matters are his decisions. Meanwhile, the media-friendly buffoon Boris did nothing. He washed his hands. Do you think the people that are dead because of him feel better that he wasn't a sexually abusive racist that killed them? It amazes why people give a shit about personality traits and characteristics. Perhaps they presume a good person will make good decisions. That's fair. Except you're a fucking moron to make that extrapolation. Just look at the fucking decisions themselves, they are there, in front of you, to be looked at. Trump get's his right. Boris doesn't. That's all that matters.

Very often the land was owned by farmers, so not open, or sometimes (as is the case in courses in and around urban areas), wasteland, that nobody is going to pay to convert into something that people would want to walk around. It isn't very often that pristine public parkland is turned into golf courses. I sympathise with what you're saying but I completely disagree that the land golf courses sits on would somehow greatly benefit society if it was made public. Because that's just wrong.

Maybe it's different in England but we have loads of golf courses within our urban centres that would in fact be perfect parkland. I have one within a 10 minute bike ride from my house. Beautiful waterfront area adjacent to a high school, bike paths, and a neighborhood.

Could care less about the courses that are out of town. That's not impacting anything.

Urban golf courses are an enclosure of the commons and should be converted into uses accessible to the broader public.

Golf is a gentrified hobby out of cost reach for many. So are many things, but they don't take up acres of space within our cities and serve so few.

The government changed the way it counts the number of covid-19 tests in order to hit its target of 100,000 tests per day by the end of April, HSJ can reveal. The Department of Health and Social Care is now including tests that have been posted or delivered in its figures. These tests are counted before the recipient has provided and returned their sample to a laboratory. Speaking at today’s press conference, health secretary Matt Hancock said the government had reached its target yesterday after carrying out more than 122,347 tests on 30 April. However, up to 40,000 of these ’tests’ constitute the dispatch of kits to individuals at home, or to hospitals or other healthcare settings. A senior source close to the testing programme told HSJ that work to achieve the 100,000 tests per day had been “manic” and that the health and social care secretary Matt Hancock was “obsessed” with reaching the target. “They are trying every trick in the book,” the source said.

These two cunts should be amongst the first to die in the coup d'etat.
