They certainly have and to be honest I didn't miss Gerrard last night either. I think that's a first.

The thing is with pressure now seemingly removed from Captain Fantastic's shoulders he'll probably come back to his very best now. He's still a world class player and if he can find his form and desire he's the very best.

If nothing else there's always hope.

Let's face it, we've had no choice though, he's been out for a longtime now so we haven't been able to heavily rely on Gerrard, we've had to change and perhaps for the better. It's almost a bonus now when he's available.

Precisely.

And perhaps who knows that'll somehow make him find his own feet again? Like it or not we've relied heavily on his services for almost ten Season in succession. No wonder if he's felt a bit worn out of late.

gerrard didn't come into my thinking at all for this season, I see gerrard as a bonus now and nothing more.

Madness isn't it. I dread to think how good we'd have been if we spent a little more and got him instead of Downing. He'd be perfect for us.

Apart from the goal Johnson was shite.
Since Ste clark got hold of Skrtel he's been a monster, skrtel and agger is now my first choice partnership.

Disagree, in the first half he was great, he was superb going forward and constantly a menace for Ashley Cole, held his own at the back too. When we were under the cosh in the second half he wasn't as solid as Kelly would have been, but to brandish him as shite apart from the goal is quite frankly ridiculous.

I don't get what it is on this site, but I've noticed, especially in the match thread yesterday, there seems to be some form of hate campaign going around over Johnson, would I dare say it's because he's playing the same position and limiting the chances of a young promising scouser?

Yeah but what type of passes were they ? I don't remember any really decent or special passes from him . In fact I remember fuck all from him .

Why are people creaming themselves over Mata?

He's been distinctly average so far and yesterday I Don't remember him doing anything of note. How much did Chelsea spend on him? I'm not sure I'd swap him for Downing for any reason other potential resale value.
