So he's scored 9 goals in 5 games, and if he doesn't score in the next four, so has 9 in 9, so you'd drop him?
It's not as easy as that. You have to look at other things, it's not all about goals anyway. Kuyt and Maxi both offer a lot, even when they aren't scoring. Downing maybe not so much.
Some players don't find form when on bench either, some need to play themselves into form, and dropping them would only make things worse. Obviously playing players into form isn't worth it when their best form isn't great. But for the likes of Maxi and Kuyt their best definitely is.

Dirk doesn't need games to get his form up, he needs christmas to come and go. He;s borderline diabolical in the opposition half at the moment so i would have no qualms at all in benching him until he's partied the year away in jan.
If a player who is in such a purple patch as maxi is, doesn't score in 4 games i would drop him. He offers little elsewhere so i'd happily drop him.
Downing SHOULD have assists by now. His first few games he was electric, but since then he's obviously fed up with no one scoring from his plethora of set ups. I'd be willing to be more patient with downing as he normally is guaranteed to whip in a decent cross or 2 a game, and is accomplished at helping the full back out
Hendo is an enigma i can't crack. I think he's our super sub for the moment.
