Atkinson is an atrocious referee. His standard pattern is to wimp out of all the difficult decisions for most of a match, then get the guilts about it and start cracking down where there's no need.

The one saving grace is that he's even-handed in his uselessness. We've certainly been on the wrong end of some awful decisions from him, but so have the rest. I don't actually think he's biased as such.

Hopefully the ref will be watching. Not expecting much mind.

I'm ridiculously excited about this game.

There seems to be loads of speculation that Coutinho will start and Sturridge will be on the bench. I don't like it, but I think that's going to happen.

If the team is largely unchanged from last week (Lovren for Lucas) I think we'll win and it could even be one of those games against our rivals where we're just unstoppable (see Arsenal, Spurs, City). So if Klopp's bold and really goes for it as we did against Leicester, we'll win 3-0 with Sturridge grabbing a brace and Mane chipping one in as well.

We are away so the roads will be dead. He will be on the M57 within 10 mins of leaving his house, M62 in half an hour. Then half an hour to Manc airport.

You should be alright Woland. At that time of night, its an hour from yours tops.

I'm just worried about the amount of people in Liverpool ordering cabs at that minute to leave the pubs to head home or into town. You normally can't get one for ages and the last few times I've tried to pre book they just fuck you off and put you in the normal queue at that time.

I'm always fucking nervous playing Chelsea. I really hate them. Plus I went to Stamford Bridge to see Liverpool play a few times in the 2000s and saw us lose 2-0, 3-0 and then 4-0. I think.

And then the defeat in the semi of the League cup in 2015.

Can't recall ever seeing us beat Chelsea in a match I was at.

Long shot but I am at Istanbul AirPort and they dont show the game any place here. Anyone know a good place downtown they show it? Took an early flight with a loooong stopover so I could see the match so I am getting desperate here.

I was also there when they beat us to ensure they qualified for Europe, just before Abramovich bought it, with a red-faced David Moores sweatily telling everyone that he had "budgeted for this", which I assume he meant to assuage any fears that Liverpool not being in the Champions League was any major financial disaster.
