I've just been having a discussion with my friends that we could beat this Barcelona team. Obviously they laughed and took the piss, but thats because they're incapable of watching football and seeing past the team name, but we could couldn't we? That midfield, Busquets, Paulinho and Rakatic, it's slow and old, our pressing counter attacking game seems made to take them on. This Barca team looks pretty average to me.

They're shite up to the front 3.

They could us apart I reckon

6-4 ahoy

I'd imagine it would go a lot like the City game, if we get the second leg at Anfield, as long as we kept ourselves in the tie for the return leg, I'd really fancy us.

Chelsea looked more threatening but you could say the same about our games when we play some shit team who sit with 11 behind the ball and wait to break on us.

Chelsea are well within their rights to set up however they want and they executed their game plan really well bar one mistake.

I just thought it was a really boring attack vs defence game for the most part.

And I disagree that Barca were equally to blame. They were pedestrian and didn't move the ball quickly enough but they were trying to get forward and break through. As we know, it's not always so easy against a packed defence.

That'd be some final, not sure if it's possible with the draw?

Umtiti & Pique are a solid CB partnership, and Ter Stegen has developed into a fucking good goalie. He's not De Gea but he's one of the world's best imo.

Busquets still does his job brilliantly -

I really like Rakitic - he's slowed down the last year but he's a really good player.

I think Barca would struggle to deal with our attacking outlets, but they'd cause us similar problems ...

That bunch would do fuck all to us. I really hope they go through and we face them. I have seen enough to suggest we could put 7 past that dross of shit. Chelsea gave them to much respect.

Was that @Kay Age El 's man who cocked up for Chelsea's goal? He's looked a bit out of his element today.

Rakitic was fantastic on Chelsea's break - Willian had Kante flying down and Rakitic was cutting out that pass. Instead of 2-0, it's 1-1
He is an amazing defender, outstanding even, that was shit though..

CONCACAF CL last 16 kicks off tonight. Toronto visiting Colorado. Expected game time temperature of -15c with snow on the ground. That's ridiculous to play in, especially as it is only preseason for MLS clubs. Expecting some hamstring injuries.
Will certainly not be a beautiful game to watch

He's had a very good season - but amazing/outstanding he isn't ... yet.
Today, he looked as nervous as I've seen him - I guess he wants to play for Barca - which would explain the horrible pass for a corner and the real assist on Messi's goal.

Not sure why it wouldn't be. I think there is no more keeping clubs from the same country apart next round.

I couldn't remember if it was one of those deals where there are 2 halves to the draw meaning two teams from the same side of the draw can't meet in the final.

I get the impression all the teams left fear meeting us more than we fear them

You need to get new friends

I'd fancy our chances against Barcelona. Busquets and Rakitic are past their best, and Sergi Roberto would get rinsed by our attackers.
City would batter them too

I don't think we could defend as a team like Chelsea did. Barca with all that passing through the middle would get through quite a bit. But yeah, our counter attack is fucking boss. Be a good game.

We would need to play a completely different way than Chelsea, but I think we would feed off Barca's style of play. I could see us giving them a lesson.

Fuck that, it's Utd and Mourinho.
