They're both crap at the minute. Milan are 25 points off the lead, Arse 27. It's a draw that would have been decent a few years ago but now it's like Burnley v Everton or something.

They've got AC Milan in the next round. Let's see how they like them apples.

Milan who have Fabio Borini noodling around up from for them? Think Arsenal will be fairly unbothered. They spent over £200 million in the summer and they have that tool up front. They lost 3-0 to Verona the other day.

I heard he's been a full back for them!!

Not a chance. Given the resources available here Mourinho would not have won us the league.

Not a chance? We spent heavily with Rafa.

And back then it was only Utd Arsenal and Chelsea and Arsenal were in decline.

To say no chance is silly considering he's won the league in every country.

I wouldn't say we spent heavily under Rafa, especially in comparison to the teams around us. He also took over a Chelsea that finished second to the invincibles Arsenal team and he got to buy Robben, Cech, Drogba and Carvalho that summer for big money, so he would have had a far bigger job on his hands here with less money and United and Chelsea at least spending far more than Liverpool. Saying "not a chance" is not as silly as you saying we "would have" won a couple of leagues under him.

Not to split hairs but I'm pretty sure Robben and Cech were already there. Rainieri bought them I'm sure. I don't want to even give Mourinho that credit.

Not sure when 'the other day' was but Milan are unbeaten in their last 11 games - WDWWWDDWWWW.

They had only six wins in the first 14 league games. Since the 1-0 win against Inter in the coppa Italia quarter finals on 27th December, they have 2 draws and 5 wins in the league.

Note that turnaround in form came with a change of manager ... Gattuso now managing them, started off slowly but as you can see has tightened the ship. Supposedly a bit more defensive & solid (no surprise there then) but still lacking flair up front. I think they'll see off Arsenal.

Whats rubbish about it? Besiktas and Porto qualified through the weakest group and Scum and Basel was from an equal poor group. From the first games of last 16 they have proven to be the by far weakest teams. What are your arguments opposed to that? That Besiktas played well for 15 minutes and hence they were unlucky to loose 5-0?

Well in the time since he's won what 6/7 league titles?
And in those early days especially he wasn't the negative weird manager he has become.
Chelsea were amazing in his firt spell.
He was building his reputation and at the time that stuff he was doing other managers weren't.

We spent 42m that summer
Chelsea spent 90m
Utd spent 27m

So are the weakest team to go the Etihad because we lost 5-0 after having a man sent off?

Based your 'analysis' off a result against 10 men is rubbish

So a team that were already better than us spent more than double what we did that summer and stayed better than us.

Mourinho had great resources at all the clubs he won the league with in that time (and serie a was a lot easier with juve in the shit.) He wouldn't have had anywhere near the same resources at Liverpool. Mourinho was an excellent manager but let's not pretend he walked into any club as average as we were back then and took them immediately to the top.

Oh god.... has someone tried to tell Dreamie that Mourinho isn't the bestest manager ever and Man Utd aren't the greatest team ever.

His head will be spinning with furious outrage.

Did we spend 42 million net in a summer under Rafa?

He didn't just win the league with Inter(something Rafa failed horribly at) he won the treble including the CL.

Liverpool always give managers money to spend and I've zero doubt he'd have won us a title or two.

You don't, fair enough but all the evidence points to the fact he probably would have.

Rafa got us close as did Houiller and Rodgers and Mourhino is a massively better league manager.

Liverpool did not always give their managers money. By the time we spent over 20 million on any one player United and Chelsea had done it several times. We were spending a lot less than them and were already weaker to begin with. The team Benitez took over had scraped 4th player with a pathetic points total. Given how far we were behind others teams in terms of talent and spending already the signs do not point to he "probably he would have" won the league as you can't compare any situation he took over in since then.
I'm not trying to say Rafa is a better league manager but his LA liga wins with Valencia were as impressive as any of Mourinho's league wins.
