Could we be signing both Thuram and Lavia, and then sell one of our midfielders? Thiago to the Saudis?

What, for £50m!?!? No chance. Ridiculous fee for a 19 year old that's played 1 season which he finished rock bottom with.

Hope we stay clear tbh, much better options out there.

decent value if we get a decent price is what I meant. They need funds, we already have two new CMs so it’s not like we’re desperate.

No idea if this kid if any good or not but as everyone has already said, 50M does seem like mad money for a fairly raw inexperienced AND relegated 19 year old.

50M for that and he needs to be... dare I say it... a generational talent.

Well he did pass the ball to Jota for our first goal against Southampton, is that a show of desperation on his part, or is that a kind of show of Joe Gomez syndrome ?

Find it hard to care about the money tbh. We got Mac Allister for at least £20m off so we're ahead anyway. If he's good just pay the £40-45m it'll take and get on with it.

For those that are flapping around and wondering what all the fuss is about, take a look at these…He’s more Kante-esque in his dogged aggression than I remember and reminds me a touch of Tchouameni prior to his Madrid move (albeit in a better league)…

The question we need to ask ourselves is how much do we value a DM (number 6 role) ? - I have never liked spending big money on such a role, as by definition they are clean-up artists, and I really believe you cannot be an effective DM unless you have had at least 2/3 seasons in the league. The best DM's need to be able to read the game very well to stop the danger - the role is more mental than actual physical skill. So how much is that role worth to you guys ? - and how long does someone who plays in that role under Klopp will their levels drop ?

I honestly think we need a DM based midfielder but also think that Thuram is more of an 8, - but Thuram is a talent we cannot give up on - based on his physical size, skillset, and ceiling - we should get him if we can. Part of me wants to get him in preparation for our next meeting with Real Madrid, - OK so you got Cav, and Touchi - here's our French guy - he's gonna piss over your French boys. I am hoping that FSG do the right thing if they want to get both Thuram and a DM in preparation for next season when we will lose Thiago - that would be a lesson learnt from last summers shambles. The question is if this is going to be their approach - they should look for better deals outside of England for an effective experienced DM that we can have for the next 3 to 4 seasons, not a 19 year old kid who will effectively take the place of Bajcetic.

Regardless of getting a DM+Thuram - we really need a defender !!! - will feel better if we get one as our next signing. That does not mean I want to lose any of the players we currently have. Let's not forget - we have lost 4 players this season - Four !!! - it's right that they get 5 players in - because one of them will be in preparation for the player(s) that will leave next season !!!

This is a must-watch analysis on Lavia. Definitely a serious talent, but at 19 he is still quite a few years away from his prime - do we really need him and Bajcetic? He should play at Dortmund or Leipzig for a couple of years to develop into a 70-80M player.

I guess the question will be whether we think we'd be able to afford him in 2-3 years time, especially with the calibre of clubs sniffing around him at the moment. There are question marks still about Fabinho and whether he will get back to his best considering his age; I think signing a DM to eventually replace him is no bad thing. Bajectic is still very young.

Lavia is 9 months older than Bajcetic. As a comparison Lavia has played 2230 minutes in the premier league and Bajcetic 529.

Does anyone realistically expect Bajectic to fill out ever enough to be a six in the PL? He's far more likely to become a technically able 8, IMO, and as such I don't see signing Lavia as a natural blocker to his progression.

We also have to consider that Henderson and Thiago will likely be gone in the next year or two and Fabinho will be getting outpaced by evolution.

For the defending portion of this video, he seems very ahead of the play, and always playing catchup. I don't know if thats how saints wanted him to play, or he was just positionally suspect

This is how i feel. I don't think Stefan will ever grow enough in size to be a dominant 6. He could be an excellent all round midfielder however

Isnt it better to invest now when Thiago is off after the season, Hendo is going to be a bit part player and Fabinho has 1-2 years left before he is off.

Klopp can mould him into the player he wants the first 12 months and we have loads of games given the Europa league etc. Pay 40 now instead of 80 in 2 years time.
