If Chelsea do get Brighton to accept a bid after promising an auction with a fixed deadline then Brighton lose a shit load of good will in future negotiations. Negotiations that will happen because they’re a selling club.

It's an absurd figure to pay anyway, sooner Chelsea wrap this up the better.

Perhaps, but if they keep producing the players the top clubs want then it's not going to matter. Plus if Caicedo and his entourage have made it clear he'll only sign for Chelsea then it's hard to hold it against Brighton when there's £115m up for grabs.
Agree about FFP. Will be very interesting how Chelsea can continue this level of spending. They must be extremely confident of selling academy players for high fees over the next 2 or 3 years.

Come the end of the summer is that what we'll be holding onto while Chelsea finish above us and we look back (again) wondering why we did fuck all to focus on Liverpool instead of engaging in stupid child's game with a dirty, rotten club.
Well we've made total fools of ourselves and treated Lavia (who we'll presumably now try and slither back to) like dirt, but other than that it was all fantastic.
