Caice-d'oh!

On the downside I'm obligated to watch this team, with all of the avoidable flaws.

I watched an hour of a 3v3 tournament in a plaza here, and tomorrow I'm going to watch sporting gijón. I didn't hear the word amortization once. Finance didn't even come up.

The person selling me the ticket just said, "you know we aren't very good, right?" Old ass stadium on a river. That's the stuff.

All I can assume is the Chelsea hierarchy are gambling heavily on UEFA/EPL not having the balls to call them out on this or that they will win an appeal when it goes full legal

As Chelsea aren’t in European competition this season, UEFA have no jurisdiction over them to do anything, I think.

It’ll be down to the FA - who will likely do nothing other than fine them or give them a warning.

I mean it never felt real , spent hours the other day wondering why/how we were a
Spunking 111m on this lad.

Normal service has resumed , lavia for 52m will do

Has he actually signed for Chelsea or what?
Or are our owners flying in to sort it?

When have FSG ever flown in to sort our a transfer?

They probably didn't know who Caicedo was until Jorg Gordon and Klopp convinced them he was worth spending 110m on.

Not only are the chavs going to SMASH through FFP. It looks like they're doing it deliberately in order to just pay a paltry fine.

They are flying out for the first game of the season, it's a complete nothing story. Seriously though, has a bid still not been confirmed? How long do Chelsea need?

it has to be points deduction, fines and multiple transfer window bans

but we all know it will be a smack on the back of the legs

In American sports there is something called “luxury tax” that allows you to overshoot the mandated salary cap if you’re willing to pay a penalty. Probably Boehly thinks of FFP the same way.

If this becomes norm, we will see multiple clubs with various point deductions assigned to them based on their transgressions during transfer window and the final standings will be largely determined by those handicaps and the decisions made by the governing bodies before the start of the season. Which frankly sounds like a fucking nightmare. Better to enforce the existing rules and not let the rule-breakers register players like La Liga have done.

Last season, Barca couldn't register Lewandowski and all the other fannies they bought until they raised funds because la Liga was actively rather than retrospectively enforcing shit. How, apart from the obvious, is this any different?

Exactly…

I have been a proponent of a luxury tax for a while. This would be a system that is transparent and predictable and allows teams to overspend, with proceeds going to lesser revenue teams.

The current situation with caveats, ambiguity and unenforced rules is a disgrace.

It wouldn’t help us though - our revenue is one of the biggest and we don’t overspend.

It would be great for practically everyone except us.

Would it change your mind if you knew that Henry has brought in a baseball bat in his checked baggage?

I’m still waiting for it to be announced properly. I know DaveKop bloke tends to be ITK but nothing on mainstream yet

Have I missed the official announcement? All I’m seeing is that Chelsea have an agreement on an 8 year deal with Caicedo and that there is a £115m package offer Chelsea have put together to tempt Brighton to turn to the dark side
