Chelsea will probably sign Lavia too and Mystic will be spreading his cheeks for John Henry and Jorg
Hal, since when did you become a hysterical fanny that doesn't even bother to read posts? I've posted multiple times on this forum that we're dickheads for not signing another centre back, the only thing I've really posted in the Lavia thread is that I think he's a bit expensive for someone who's played 14 games, but that we need a DM. Where the hell have you got this preconception that I'm happy with how we've handled those two situations?

You, and your entourage, seem incapable of seperating hating on FSG from looking at this saga in isolation. We've tried to hijack a very advanced deal for one of our rivals, initially succeeding, requiring our rivals to up their bid by £35 million, double their wage offer, cancel transfers, and honestly probably breach FFP for whatever that's worth, we've made Chelsea look like an absolute circus scrambling around to sort this, I don't know how you can't see that.

On our part, we'll get the virgins on twitter laughing cos they beat us to his signature, that's a bit shit, but we've been clinical in how we've handled this in trumping Chelseas offer, after all we were in this transfer for 3 days, compared to Chelseas 6 or whatever months. Our only failure here was believe Caicedos team when they said they'd be happy to join us, they played us, is that why you're so angry?

Anyway, if this gets confirmed, we'll go on to sign Lavia for £50million now, probably tonight or tomorrow. That spurious offer from Chelsea didn't even get a response from Southampton as they knew what games they were playing. I'm still not convinced he's the right choice, so I'm glad we tried from Caicedo, but we have to sign someone and he's what avaliable. The up side is we can and should invest in a centre back for the remaining money, I'm still pissed we haven't sorted this sooner, and I'm worried we won't, but there's no point running around the forum like you've shat your pants shouting at anyone who saying anything remotely positive about the club to show off that feeling.

Tdlr; post about things I've actually said, not these fantasy's you're making up.

How have we made fools out of ourselves?
We bid after getting assurances from player/agent. Then the Agent did a u-turn.

We don't have a bid accepted for Lavia.

He won't answer that, he'll just accuse you of something completely unrelated.

If every journo in the country knew they were his strong preference then I'm not sure why it was such a secret to the blockheads running our transfer business.

Can't be arsed. If you can't work that out on your own, you're clearly too strung out on the copium.

Fair enough. But I fail to see what we have done wrong. We tried, after they said he would be up for it, bid accepted, agent u-turn for lotsa money,

All I can assume is the Chelsea hierarchy are gambling heavily on UEFA/EPL not having the balls to call them out on this or that they will win an appeal when it goes full legal

I’m waiting for the next twist in the saga - a premier league announcement warning Chelsea that they are likely to receive a points deduction due to persistent ignoring of FFP rules…

I did read it. Some of it makes sense and is true. Some of it is waffle.

But basically, any Liverpool fan who isn't embarrassed and outraged by how we've conducted ourselves over the last month of this transfer window needs to give their head a wobble. It's been detailed extensively on here how we've made a show of ourselves - not just by me - and if people genuinely can't see that and they're not just lying to themselves, well, I don't know what to say.

I’m still waiting for it to be announced properly. I know DaveKop bloke tends to be ITK but nothing on mainstream yet

Really can’t believe the other 18 EPL clubs (sorry 16 - obv man citeh and Newcastle won’t care) don’t call foul too. Chelsea are using pure financial muscle without any attempt to hide it

Maybe if the selling club were put in some jeopardy as to receiving the funds it may help

Potentially losing out to both Lavia and Caicedo to them fucking cunts would be up there as one of the most embarrassing saga's in football history.

What's even worst is we're still at the table waiting on Chelsea to force us to leave before moving on.

I still think trying, as Chelsea had dragged their feet, is worth a go.

It's not the trying I've got an issue with. It's the frankly humiliating way we went about things.

I don't believe more couldn't have been done (in private!) to make sure there was a realistic chance of him agreeing to join, especially given the very predictable scenario of Chelsea coming back and matching our bid. It was always likely to come down to a straight choice.

What makes it worse is that we've soured the deal for Lavia now too, assuming we do manage to salvage it.

Rival fans will be laughing about it all season.

It's just total fucking amateurishness.

So we should be.. if we remove our bid Chelsea can negotiate more favourable terms.

It's not personal. It's just business.

Until Thursday, Chelsea bid 80m, we've forced them to go 35m over where they wanted to go.

Am I happy with FSG this window? Absolutely not and they have less then 3 weeks to stop a revolt.

But in this one instance, they aren't to blame. We were led down primrose path by Manuel Sierra and we should never do business with him again. Much like Aidy Ward was black balled.

Who fucking cares, it's none of our fucking concern because the player doesn't want to fucking join. So fuck him and fuck Chelsea.

Let's get a fucking move on before our fucking season falls down the fucking gutter.

All this dick measuring over this little fucker is fucking pathetic. FUCK.

I’m wondering if given in Caicedo we were plumping for a proper No.6 option and willing to pay up for a potentially top class one, we’ll now swoop quickly for Florentino Luis as an (riskier but similarly high ceiling option) alternative?

This would be utopia..

Maybe more could be done in private, I would ofc prefer that.
From what we read, the agent is a bit of a dick, refusing the player to meet/talk with Liverpool who they had said they would be open to move to, when the bid was accepted. Cue Boherly money bags.

In January, Arsenal was his favourite team btw.

Rival fans? Who gives a fuck.

I do think going back to Southampton with bid three and not getting it done for Lavia appears strange.

Yeah I can’t imagine that this Chelsea preference came as a total surprise to us.

We tried our luck and it didn’t work out.

My only complaint is if we have so much money, why leave it so late.

There is this trend of trying for midfielders who prefer other clubs - Tchouameni, Bellingham, Caicedo. If it was simple one or two day conversation that is fine. We spent months tracking Tchouameni, sacrificed a season and CL place for Bellingham. What is this infatuation with specific players who have made their destination preference clear?

Blaming the agent is a cop-out. We're not some novices new to these games, we're supposed to be one of the biggest clubs in the world and should have executives with a bit of savvy.

It was up to us to figure this shit out professionally and without damaging the club's reputation. We comprehensively failed to do so. Maybe it's not the end of the world, but it's definitely not good.

If the other party is unprofessional, it is not so easy though, even if we are savvy. I would imagine we had heard about this agent beforehand and knew it could be risky.

cant say black balled. its wacist. moth balled is more appropriate.

We have had two transfer windows. One that was very prepared and involved us knowing everything we need to know.

The other one has been chaos inside the fog of war. We have been fucking horrible. We have tried to do to a club that functions nothing like spurs, what we did to spurs with diaz. And then, we may have had done to us, what we did to spurs, by that same wretched club.

We are shit at poker, basically, but good at doing our consumer research and making a decision. Given the amount of blood in the water in this ugly sport, we can't afford to be shit at anything. But it's us who chose to play it this way.

And we left it up to a part time appointment. This window. The most important window we've had for ages.

It could be argued that this hasn’t been particularly well handled. If we don’t sign Lavia, it’s an embarrassment.

I just think we went it for a player who had already made his mind up that he was going elsewhere. He is already been courted by Chelsea etc etc

We went for a player and they are beating our wage demands, and/or were naive.

We got used as a useful third party, and didn't guard against that in any way.
