Burnley v Liverpool Match Thread

I'm rather bemused about all the Woodburn up front, natural striker talk

He has never played up front for the senior team and often doesn't for the reserves either

He always seems to be positioned out wide in a front three

And as for being a natural scorer, really? Based on what?
He played upfront for the under 18s & scored some phenomenonal goals that natural goalscorers alone score. There was a brace against Utd that was brilliant. Another where he brought it onto his chest then volleyed it in, & a proper overhead bicycle kick.

Klopp keeps calling him a forward & an offensive player though, so I think he's trying to mould him into something else, unfortunately.

Its like someone found Emre's ON switch

Our rivals may have a game in hand on us but we're in the top four regardless.

Need to play better than that to keep the pressure on though. Esp with those bitter noisy neighbours & City coming up soon.

I don't give a single shit whether we're in the champions league next year anyway. We'll be awful in it. And won't be in it the year after. And lose our best players.

Martin Tyler really needs to remember he's just a waffling commentator rather than an analyst. When Burnley got the ball in their half and punted it hopefully forwards, he shrieked, 'It's always on!!!' as if it was some kind of terrible tactical error by us. Yes, we've been suckered into certain situations recently, but, unless you leave your defenders loitering around your own area when you attack, it's ALWAYS on against ANY team when that happens. Twat.
