Hey @Frogfish. I don't expect you to know but sometimes I write a travel blog occasionally (it needs a bit of dusting off at the moment admittedly) - Still there are a couple of business lounge ones that a little left of centre I could recommend. Cathay Pacific in HK is very cool. They've somehow managed to replicate the hawker markets of Singapore and HK on two levels without being too gaudy. The Qatar one is ace apart from the fat American twats that frequent the place (No offence to the Americans here but business Americans don't travel well - FACT) Weirdly Helsinki is boss. Mainly because it's so weird. I think this is probably my favourite of all of them. It's like walking into an LSD bubble filled dream filled with stunning scando lovelies all offering some of the finest seafood ever. I once sat down at the bar there and was immediately approached by some (very fit) chic offering me a complimentary massage! I was understandably sceptical - But she had a FinnAir badge on so I figured why not. I sat on the stool while she massaged my shoulders while I supped on a mojito. 🙂
Cheers Mate. So be to add to the list! Qatar my favourite of those I've been too. But looking forward to checking out Qantas this November when we travel does under - heard that's great too.

God this is a perfect reflection on the international break. On the Burnley Post match thread, airport lounges and allegedly boring Scandinavian cities are being discussed. If ever there was evidence that the international break was shite...

There is nothing boring about Helsinki my friend. I was actually over there on business the weekend they decided to shave off the alcohol tax to reduce the import from Estonia just across the bay. At the time (2004 i think) the finns could import as much as they needed for own consumption tax free, and needless to say those ferries were pretty loaded when arriving from Tallin. The Police in Helsinki prepared for Mayhem that weekend and I am pretty sure you must have been put away for really serious crime if you were not released to free up some space for the expected drinking fest coming up. I had to ask my colleague if they redused the tax for one weekend only but he reasurred it was a permanent deal. They sure know how to celabrate important political calls those crazy finns.

Qantas - I have to say is pretty poor in my opinion. In fact Sydney airport is pretty poor. I have never actually been to the business lounge though. It's remarkably small weirdly. I used to live in Sydney for 3 years and go back every year with my wife to visit her family. As such we are usually just in and out - No hanging around. With any luck you'll enjoy it more though. 🙂

Incidentally while we are veering massively off topic - The absolute worst was United. I flew with them from Tokyo to Honolulu - By far the worst service, lounge and flight experience I've ever had! It was so bad it actually made me scared of flying for a couple of years - I won't go into details as it's late but suffice to say a loss of cabin pressure triggered the airbags things to drop down from above us. There was massive panic and screaming. The woman in front of me fainted and the smell of vomit was horrid! All part of a travellers experience though I suppose!

Well that doesn't bode well!

My daughter's partner also runs a luxury travel blog covering airlines and hotels - you would like it. P.M. me if you want a link.
BTW We take care never to book any US airline 😉

Holle has become a serious grumpkin, hasn't he, when he used to be a light-hearted poster? What is it with Austrian men when they reach middle age? One minute you're an artist, the next thing a psychopathic dictator. One day you're a family man, the next thing you're digging a dungeon under your house. Textbook.

Oh come on, sweet-heart. I'm still the same.
