Pre Match Brentford (A) - Sat 12:30

Anything to do with fixtures is the League, postponements, rearrangements etc. They have their own external contractor company who specialises in the fixture schedule every year before the list is printed, filtered & sent to each club.

They have contracts with broadcasting companies who tells them when the televised slots are (these haven't changed for about 9378 years) and then they go from there. The reason we're on 12:30 more than anyone else and generally televised more is because we generate the most $$$ for the broadcasters from a global perspective, that's it.
I’ve got to agree with this. We’re box office.

Speaking truths, guys like TNT aren't going to fork out a fortune on TV rights just to broadcast Burnley Brentford or Luton Wolves with respect to those clubs. They're in the money business, they want to stage the biggest games, the biggest fights, the biggest events no matter the sport.

Unfortunately for TNT they only really have 3 slots and 1 of them happens to be 12:30 on a Saturday. It'd be interesting to see how often we're shown live at 2/4:30/8:00pms on Sundays/Mondays

Really? Are we more popular than a Man U whose losses make even better viewing? Also, we seem to be picked when we're away rather than home with travelling over 200m (to London). Man U are as popular if not more and if your theory of popularity bores credence should have equal or close to the number of 12:30 kick-offs, which is not the case

You could argue since Klopp's arrival, we have. On the whole we're not but there is 1 main reason behind this and that's because of Utd's regular participation in the Europa in that time. Playing 6/8pms on Thursdays means you can't play 12:30 Saturday.

Brentford will be the 5th? 12:30 we've had this season, home to Everton and away to Wolves, City and can't remember the last.

Other games we've also been shown live this season include - Chelsea (A), Newcastle (A), Spurs (A), Brighton (A), Luton (A), Sheffield (A), Palace (A), Utd (H), Burnley (A), Chelsea (H), Arsenal (H), Newcastle (H), Arsenal (A), incredibly a lot of away games lol, + all our EL games and cup games such as Bournemouth, Norwich, Arsenal, West Ham, Fulham and Soton coming up. Given we're only in the middle of Feb, this is a lot of times for 1 club.

How much say do TNT have in who plays the 12.30? I would have thought that would be driven more by the distribution to the Asian market

Edit : On reflection, TNT probably sell on the rights for Asia, so they are very vested in who plays

I believe the rights are separately negotiated. TNT call the shots on who gets the 12:30 slot

Depending on the package, broadcasters will have either the first, second, third, fourth or fifth pick of matches each weekend.

The prime slot, and the one with the majority of first picks, is Sky Sports’ Sunday 4.30pm showing. That slot has a total of 32 matches and Sky has first dibs on 19 of those, meaning it often ends up with the premium games.

Sky Sports has a variety of other picks, ranging from first to fifth, across its other packages.

BT Sport does not have any first picks for its Saturday (12.30pm) slot and has to make do with 20 second picks and 12 fifth picks.

In Package A (BT Sport’s 12.30pm slot), a team can be selected a maximum of six times throughout the season and must be picked at least once.

The same applies to Sky Sports’ Package B (Saturday 5.30pm), while packages C (Saturday 7.45pm, Sunday 2pm) and D (Sunday 4.30pm) have a maximum of five and a minimum of two.

There is no minimum number of times a side can be picked by Sky Sports for Package E (Monday 8pm or Friday 7.30-8pm and Sunday 2pm), but there is a maximum limit of five times a season.
So the maximum number of games that a club can appear is 2 x 6 + 3 x 5 = 27

Press conference here

Starts @ 10:38

10:40 Sven-Goran Ericsson - accepted invitation for legends. Really happy about it
12:00 Team news - Mo back in full training, Ibou not suspended, Joe is ft again, Connor's back, Ali's back, Thiago not - may have forced Trent back? No we never force anyone back. Last decision is always player but not only them (Dom was in the Q but not mentioned in reply)
14:45 opportunity to go 5 ahead but Brentford tricky - Toney, Maupe and AFcon players make a diff, good at set pieces, can't avoid them, very compact defence, lots of speed, but saying that we need to be on top of our game. I'm fine with the resilience we've shown
17:00 Unusual for PL team to play with two central strikers. Problem? Problem is balls played to Toney, and how they use their 2nd ball game. He is very smart, uses his body. He keeps them in the EPL
18:45 Last year you lost against them and sixth - big turnaround this year - blah blah response - it means nothing for this game
20:00 Because of horrendous injury problems (???) what about versatility eg Gomez, Elliott, Jota? - very important, how squad should be, good sign for squad. Long discussion on Joe LB/RB
23:00 Harvey - frustrated? No, we've talked
25:00 Trent and Dom - how long out? It's serious, with Dom it's around the Final, Trent a week or two longer

OK - but we are always told that one of he reasons we get so many 12.30 slots is because of our popularity in Asia, but if TNT decides which matches and they get no benefit from that Asia appeal, that would imply the Asia appeal is totally inconsequential in the scheduling.

Considering the recent fortunes of Trent, Szoboszlai and Thiago on being cleared by our medical team I'd be giving Mo another week

Trent got another type of injury, so that wasnt related. Same with Thiago.

I don't doubt you are right, but I think this means that the people who tell us Liverpool get 12.30s because we are so popular in Asia are just selling us a line of bullshit to cover up the evil conspiracy.

Either that or TNT are taking backhanders from the Asian TV companies when they select their fixtures, which is just another evil conspiracy

"... and it's LIVE!" - which coincidentally is an anagram of evil

Appaz Alisson is out tomorrow with a hamstring injury sustained in training today.
If true its a fucking shambles.

So looking like

Kelleher

Bradley / Gomez
Konate
Virgil
Robertson

Endo
Macca
Jones

Diaz
Jota
Nunez

We can expect Brentford’s front two to get plenty of chances so let’s hope he continues the form he showed at Burnley.

Predicting a demolition job on these tory cunts.

They won't know what hit them with that Bradley Salah partnership. Who even is their LB with Henry out? He might as well sit this one out to save himself getting embarrassed.

Early red card for him & 0-5

Up the fucking....fucking reds!!!!

I would like to see the return of Robbo shithousery and wind up Maupay into a red card tackle

We're in the Europa Cup, and we're doing Saturday 12:30pm kick-offs. As you said its 5 and its only Feb, more than any other team. A club can only be televised 29 times maximum
