He literally offers zero value to the team.

Unless were planning on bringing in a tekkers Italian he can keep happy he needs binning off.

Give some yoovs a chance ahead of the clueless , over-paid, under-talented goon

There were loads on here in summer who were quite happy for him to stick to his guns and stay here!

Still cant quite belive we were offered 14 million for him in the summer, he doesn't look he is worth 1.4 million these day

I was fucking furious when the little prick wouldn't fuck off in the summer. Cost us £7-8m, minimum - that's some going for one player.

And the various thickos I had to put up with praising his 'loyalty'. Fucks sake.

He pressed today and looked like he gave a shit

He's not good enough though

He's shite. 14 mill £ and he turned them down. We'll never see money like that again for him. He'll be off for 5 mill to some shitty Italian club, on loan first obviously.

Needs dropping on his head..

I was one of those who was happy to give him a chance in the summer.. But he is muck.. reminds me of Jovanovic

Having banged on about on here (i.e.give Borini a chance over Lambert - not that that's saying much) he was powder puff shit yesterday.

Given he'll get no minutes here, surely he has to go in January. Question is, will he agree to?

I thought in the summer he was waiting for a move back to Italy which obviously never materialised, for him to have dismissed Sunderland out of hand I suspect he had been expecting an Italian club to offer a last minute cut price deal. Thats probably what he will agree to now, if he doesnt move in Jan I expect Rodgers will make him train with the youths to force the issue

He will be back to Roma on loan with a view to a permanent $7m deal in the summer and we will have to swallow it

He's not horrific. He'd actually fit really well in the right side that would play to his strengths. Like Sunderland last season I guess.

But he doesn't fit in our side. Not by a long stretch. He's so far removed from the type of football Brodgson is so happy to preach about that it makes you wonder what the fucking point on singing him was. Even if he was on top of his game he still wouldn't suit us. He reminds me of Carroll he's so far apart from what we're trying to do.

Yet another awfully thought through singing from this manager.

No doubt this was the committee's fault though.

If this is the case then once again Rodgers has handled it badly. If he was told he wouldn't get a game then don't play the cunt !!!! Make him train with the reserves, get the message across he has no option but to accept a move. £14mil ffs plus the wages, we really are world class wasters of money

Not true. What people were saying was that his contract entitled him to do what he did, which is a totally different matter. I'll bet most of those who pointed that out would still have preferred him to bugger off for the kind of fee the Mackems were reportedly offering. I reckon he would actually have done his career more good by doing so and going to a club which got the best out of him.

rodgers should have called his mum a cunt or something. we should have made the idea of him staying here a living hell.

It was Rodgers who brought him to Anfield and on Rodgers's head this lies. It's not Borini's fault that he's not as good as we wished him to be.

that's a little unfair and rewriting history a bit Ryan. When we bought him you praised the signing, you said he moves like a good striker does, makes clever runs, sound investment. It didn't work out, but labeling it the disaster it's ended up being, as though that was something foreseen by most, is a bit of a change in stance. He'd had a good season with Roma, most Chelsea fans had been gutted to see him leave and most on here thought it was a clever transfer that may have ended up being a bargain, he was another kid that just didn't hit it off as he might.

Quite, and I don't appreciate dickheads calling posters "thicko's" for seeing it that way. Perhaps we should all spit bile & hatred at him and that would be the right way.

Except no-one ever said he didn't have a right to act as he did. Like no-one's ever said Owen didn't have a right to sign for Utd, or McManaman didn't have a right to screw us out of a fee and pocket the difference. Of course they all had the right to do these things.

The issue is whether Borini should have been treated any differently because his actions might have looked to certain less acute observers like loyalty, but weren't really, and cost us every bit as much as other more obvious displays of naked self-interest have, and without him ever having contributed anything useful to the club whatsoever.

So, fine, he was within his rights to act like a total cunt and fuck us over. And I was within mine to perceive it.

That's all very well, but not the point I was answering. Hmmmmmmmmmm reckoned there were loads on here who were "quite happy" for him to stay. There weren't, which is all I was saying.

I was relatively happy, simply cos I banged on about sturridge injury record & our lack of strikers.

I also said we would be better selling him & buying eto as well as ballotelli though (i was wrong on ballotelli, but it'd had already happened regardless).

For me, for all his faults, Borini at 4th choice is better than no 4th choice striker at all.

For the record, he's a great little player, just not to the level we need, & doesn't suit our style of play at all.

Also most people reckoned he would be better than the comically hopeless Aspas as back up, and some how Borini has managed to be worse while Aspas 7 goals this season in Spain (mostly in shite cup matches)

I think @Fabio was the only one who wanted to stay, because he was feeling insecure about his name.

More than Suarez?

As said, Borini isn't that terrible. He's nowhere near good enough for the way we want to play but he's not as bad as he is made to look by giving him 10 pressurized mins here and there to prove to everyone he's not a bag of shit.

Rodgers would've been better off giving him a proper go in my opinion.

He can't be that bad if Sunderland were willing to give 14mil for him. Imho we had two options, A -ngive him a chance and a run in the side for him to prove his value to the team or B - freeze him out completely so he had to move. The halfway house we are in is no good for us or for him.
