[article=http://www.sunderlandecho.com/sport/sunderland-afc/borini-agent-seeks-liverpool-talks-over-sunderland-chances-1-6281817]FABIO BORINI’S agent wants January talks with Liverpool over the Italian striker’s lack of playing time at Sunderland.

Wear-Tyne derby hero Borini joined the Black Cats on a season-long loan during the summer to boost his chances of regular first-team football after falling down the pecking order at Anfield.

But the 22-year-old has started just two Premier League games for Sunderland - once under Paolo Di Canio and once under Gus Poyet - both of which saw him withdrawn before the hour mark.

Amidst talk of interest from Inter Milan, Borini’s agent Marco De Marchi is concerned about the situation, particularly as the £10million frontman still harbours hopes of securing a place in the Italy squad for next summer’s World Cup.

“He dreams of Brazil in 2014 and needs games,” said De Marchi.

“He’s only had a chance at Sunderland after the arrival of Gus Poyet, but it is still insufficient. I would like a meeting with Liverpool in January.

“I can only say that if the situation of Fabio does not change in the next month, we may consider a return to Italy in order to improve his chances of being called up for the World Cup.”

Sunderland are understood to have reached a financial agreement with Liverpool over Borini’s wages when he moved to the Stadium of Light on transfer deadline day.

Even if Liverpool wanted to recall Borini and send him on loan elsewhere, they would need to pay the Black Cats compensation for the fee Sunderland fronted up to take the former Roma man for the season.[/article]

This is bullshit, he's the best striker they've got.

We should bring him back and send him somewhere where they'll Fucking play him

Borinis agent is going to have words with us because the Sunderland managers don't think he's good enough to play ?

Right

Fine player and, in theory, would be a big improvement on any of our current DM options.

But he's Italian and they don't thrive with us. Dosshouse, Aquifanny and now Borini. Talk about flogging a dead horse.

What a waste of money.

Hopefully some Italian side is feeling particularly generous but I think we're once again trapped in the situation of being in quite a weak bargaining position as it's clear the player is not wanted.

Hopefully we've learned our lesson.

No. More. Italians.

There are loads of Italian players who would walk in and instantly improve our team, granted Borini isn't one of them but they have lots of talented players. Few of the better players ever leave Italy though.

On a more relevant note, there clearly isnt room for both Borini and Aspas so one of them will be gone in January/June. Which one would you rather keep assuming that we wont flog both of them?

Borini is younger faster and stronger than Aspas but he doesnt seem to be a great finisher, on the other hand Aspas is 26 so hes unlikely to improve much however he has a much better goal scoring record even though he looks painfully off the pace of English football.

Aspas is due back in a week or two which is good because Sturridge will clearly not be able to play through the busy Christmas period without being rotated. I guess Aspas has until the end of the season to earn a place but so far hes been a total non event

[article=http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/sunderland-boss-gus-poyet-keen-2863003#ixzz2lzefUVSr ]Gus Poyet has ordered unhappy striker Fabio Borini to forget about quitting Sunderland in January.

The Italian striker, on loan from Liverpool, is angry that his first team chances have been limited.

Far from relaunching his career at the Stadium of Light, Borini, whose goal won the Tyne-Wear derby, has spent most games on the bench behind Steven Fletcher and Jozy Altidore.

Poyet admits that Borini has every right to be frustrated because of his good attitude in training.

The player’s agent is seeking talks with Liverpool in a bid to move him permanently back to Italy in the new year.

But Poyet has intervened and admitted: “If I was him I’d be moaning, but he has got great character and we have got a very good relationship.

“Every player wants to play all the time, but I am sure he will play a lot.

"He has been very good for the first 20 minutes against Swansea and had more chances than anyone else in those 20 minutes, and he had half an hour against Newcastle and again had more chances than anyone else.

“I’m sure his family are thinking, 'why doesn’t he manager play him?'. He has done well and is probably the one who has been really unlucky with the situation we have been in and he will play.

“I’ve only been here a month and a half so not everything needs to be decided now. Just wait. Let’s wait.

“To be honest, I would like to talk to him, not the agents. That would be nice. He is very useful, he is a very important player for us and he is a player who has been unlucky. He needs to play.

“He played in that strange game against Hull and paid the price for the two sendings-off, as we changed things.

"He is a player who has been very unlucky because it there is one player who should have got a little bit more from the manager it is Fabio.”[/article]

I still think this lad has a lot to offer if he finds himself in the right situation. He's useless as a wide forward but I think he could turn into a dangerous striker if played consistently and down the middle. He has great movement, workrate and an eye for goal. Its a shame cause he was never gonna get a look in here while Sturridge and Suarez are fit and the acquisition of Arsespaz.

No way I'd write off Borini's chances of becoming a top player for us. He still hasn't been given much of a chance yet and he looks very good when playing for Italy U-21's. When I saw him on loan in the Championship, playing for Swansea, his finishing was so clinical, instinctive and very cool in front of goal (6 goals in 8 games). For us he seems to be playing under pressure because he hasn't started scoring yet and this is affecting his confidence.

The only way to get his confidence up is to play him and I thought this loan spell would be the making of him; he'd score regularly for Sunderland and come back to us as a recognised Premier League goalscorer. Unfortunately it hasn't panned out like this yet but he still has the potential to become a world class goalscorer.

I see him wanting to play football as a good thing. It must be frustrating being behind Altidore.

He would improve our bench at the moment.

Borini will be very important as cover for Sturridge when we sell Suarez after the World Cup.
