Enrique, when he was fit, had the best LB stats in the league .. so yes he is good enough, but will he be fit enough or regain that form.
He's not excellent, he's good enough though, certainly to play a part anyway. He can be frustrating at times, he's a solid defender but a bit suspect at cutting out crosses and playing his way out of trouble, his interplay when attacking can be good, but his delivery and decision making can be piss poor. Not bad, not great.
I'm not saying he's a bad player, but I find him horrible to watch. Completely brainless in attacking positions.
Anyway it's probably moot anyway because Rodgers is said not to rate him at all, so he'll likely be on his way out soon enough.

Davies is more than a decent solution but Swanseas and So'ton seem to be our preferred victims. Moreno at 18M is not good business imo. Cash flush should never = stupidity.

Enrique is not underrated here. We simply acknowledge his limitations and are of the opinion that while he is good enough, we need better to win silverware.

Johnson's wank going forward aswell. Enrique's decision making is hit and miss, as is his crossing, but his link up play the season before last was great at times.

Nobody has any glowing reports about him and even Sevilla fans are uninterested. They sold Ivan Rakitic for £16M to Barca who was the mainstay of the team and want £20M from us for a young player with 1 international cap.
Thats taking the piss and we are entertaining them. Aspas + £10M is about as good as we should consider.
I agree, it's certainly coming across like this seasons "Alberto" deal, overpaying for the sake of overpaying.
