Seems like he might be available on loan or for a fee of 7-8m. Another one who has his "issues" with attitude etc, but it wasn't so long ago that this skilful out-and-out winger was being talked of as the next big thing alongside Benzema.

Worth a crack?

Hatem Ben Arfa could be on his way out of Marseille, with Newcastle, Galatasaray and Werder Bremen reportedly chasing his signature.

The French winger was part of the side that won the French title last season following his transfer to the Stade Velodrome from Lyon in 2008.

French newspaper L'Equipe states that Newcastle's representatives will meet with Marseille to discuss a transfer, although with the Magpies having little to spend this summer a loan deal could be settled.

With Ben Arfa thought to be available for a fee of around 7 to 8million euros, his agent Michel Ouazine stated that even if he is not a first-team regular, the player will only join a club that will take his career further.

"Hatem has reached a turning point in his career," Ouazine told L'Equipe.

"His choice will only be a sporting one.

"Hatem could also remain at l'OM. He can't leave at random."

I reckon Babel would benefit from a nasty streak. Which doesn't rhyme with tasty steak at all, even though they look very similar.

No, he's a really bad player. Think Babel with a nasty streak.

I remember him having immense natural talent and dribbling ability - a kind of anti-Babel?

Of course they've both proved lacking in application.

*snigger*

he has a hell of a lot more natural ability than babel. that is based only on 2 games i've seen him play, though.

He can dribble, but he's selfish and stupid - spends all his time running into dead ends and blaming other people for his own mistakes. Everybody hates him. Seriously, Ben Arfa is poison.
