WTF! I bet Spirit Of Shankly wouldn't have adopted such tactics! 😗

The Cheshire home of Manchester United executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward has been attacked by a group chanting that he was "going to die".
A video posted on social media showed an individual throwing a red flare over a large gate, while others sang songs aimed at the 48-year-old.
Woodward, who is married with two young children, was not present at the time.
Manchester United said anyone committing a criminal offence or trespassing will be banned for life.
A club statement added: "Fans expressing opinion is one thing, criminal damage and intent to endanger life is another. There is simply no excuse for this.
"We know that the football world will unite behind us as we work with Greater Manchester Police to identify the perpetrators of this unwarranted attack."
Woodward has been the subject of growing supporter discontent at United in recent weeks.
Manchester United sit fifth in the Premier League - 33 points behind leaders Liverpool - and Woodward has been the target of blame by many fans.
Both at the recent home game against Burnley and Sunday's FA Cup victory over Tranmere, supporters have sung the same song about Woodward and made repeated calls for the club's owners, the Glazer family, to leave.
The incident is reminiscent of another attack, in 2004, on the car of then club director Maurice Watkins, whose shares ended up being bought by Malcolm Glazer as his bid for the club gathered pace.
Woodward advised Malcolm Glazer and the Glazer family during its successful takeover of the club in 2005 before being recruited as a senior member of staff.
United play local rivals Manchester City in the Carabao Cup semi-final second leg on Wednesday and trail 3-1 on aggregate.

Rather than ban the culprits for life.... they should be made to watch every game at Old Trafford in full, while Ole’s at the wheel.

AFAIK none of our militant groups did stoop that low.

They targeted businesses & corporations, but I don't ever remember any physical attacks, & certainly none on family homes.

Imagine if his kids were home, they'd have been petrified, worse case, something could have caught fire.

It's crossing the line in a big way & I'd be the saying the same if it was done in the name of our club too.

The RedCafe thread on this is hilarious - maybe everyone should switch to that rather than BlueFume.

Manc supporter in said thread:

Scanning this thread:

- Some Blaming Neville?
- Some suggesting it was an inside job to improve his PR
- Some trying to question if rioting is bad provided no one gets hurt

  • Some in denial that they were from the United fan base
And another Manc.

This thread is absolutely fecking batshit.

I've only skimmed a couple pages and there's some of you coming round to the benefits of terrorism, some threatening to withdraw their support of the club, some who think Ed's doing a false flag...

And this one here stoned out of their mind trying blend their A level social science with some stereotype of a nihilist French philosopher.

It is defo crossing the Line. And this happen just after the 6-0 win while placed in 5th. Wonder what would happen if they got Hodgsonlike shit?? Also wonder why that was bunch of arseholes fans think they are entitled to do better? They point at Glazers and moneymen but they were sitting like muppets and accepting the exact same commercializing of their Disney world club while Fergie was in charge. They would accept all wrongdoings, whatever they were, without even reising an eyebrow as long as they won the game and got their prawnsandwhich. But now they thrown flares into the same peoples garden cause their idol is an idiot of a manager. You couldn't make this shit up.

On RC it seems as if 7 years is long enough. though I'm not sure if he's aware of the irony in his response :

Unacceptable but lets face it, it has been coming.
Some football fans are the lowest denominator in terms of intelligence.

I am surprised it has taken so long. We've been shit for seven years. Its only going to get worse.
Some other clubs would have reached this point ages ago.

Haha. A couple of years back a leftsided teatre group put up a play were they suggested that there were parts of the Norwegian elite with racist tendenses. During the play the showed some pictures of houses belonging to prominent people as editors and politicians. Among the houses were the house of our Ministre of justice. Some of the people whose houses were exposed filed a charge, but the police decided against investigating citing the freedome of speech. It all escalated a little and shortly after the ministre of justice and one other ministre received threats and their house where vandaliced (sprayed racist on the walls.) A week later when the ministre himself actually were in Liverpool with some friends (one mate of my also in same group) someone tried to lid a fire to his car. Same happened again later. In the end the Prime Minister went public asking the teatregroup to apologice and slated their perfomance, but the very same day this happened the wife of the ministre of Justice were arrested for doing it all. So don't exclude Woodie from the suspects just yet.

They were singing about killing him in the last home game, now they attack his house, what the fuck is wrong with people, they're in touching distance of top 4, and in the Europa League, it is hardly end of the world stuff.

Absolute dickheads.

Yup, there are things we need to stamp out of the game (and some that some of our fans still do) - racist chanting, mocking tragedies etc - and now we have to add this shit too. Disgraceful.

But Ole keeps on saying that they are the biggest and best club in the world. Europa League is surely not for them?

Hahahahaha. Lovely.

I'm assuming that "death threat" chant is a reworking of "Build A Bonfire" with The Glazers on top and Woodward in the middle?

It's not exactly a chilling precursor to attempted murder, given they've sung it about us for years, and it's been a regular at other grounds around the country for yonks.

About time we had more involvement with the local communty in our football clubs. Give these kids a place on the board.

It's insane at any level. Keep the private life out of it. Also as shit as things are for them at the moment it's only football. It hardly warrants becoming a baying mob.

United have always had a pretty hardcore lunatic fringe, I'm amazed it hasn't kicked off like this more often, but their inexorable slide into post-Ferguson mediocrity has led to the owners being firmly back in the firing line.

They were pretty quick to launch aeroplanes with Moyes Out message. They actually walk around and believe they are entitled to win without even performing.
