Balotelli

I didn't, but I accept that you and others did and to some extent I can see why. What I cannot accept is the suggestion that, having done so, the club was then stuck with whatever conduct Balotelli chose to indulge in. We agreed to pay him a shedload, he agreed to give value for that money and he hasn't.

Interesting that we trash Sterling for wanting to leave and having no loyalty and yet the clubs treatment of Balotelli tells you all you need to know about loyalty the other way.

Game changed. Business with assets. No love. No loyalty.
No one, NO ONE cares with the exception of us. The fans.

I dont think its too far removed from the fans no longer caring.

I don't think that really balances. We loved Sterling, Sterling acted like he loved the club. We indulged in Sterling and developed him, he gave his all for us. This is obviously ignoring the final six months, but generally it was a two way street that we traveled along together as player and club/supporters. Until he decided to, rather out of the blue, stop trying and started being a cunt. Starting with that interview and ending in him whoring himself and getting his move to City.

Mario was backed quite well by the fans, he got good receptions, good support in social media. He acted more or less like he always has - his own man. We paid him well, he shirked responsibility and the faith he was given. The faith that he "appeared" to respond well to initially, was short-lived, he just returned to norm, stupid flicks at pointless times in games, half arsed attitude and being a dick away from the pitch (he also tried to get all of his mates into Melwood late one night and was bollocked for it).

If anything, Mario has had far more lenience than he probably ever deserved, because we stupidly thought our less glamorous side would tone down his behaviour and see him knuckle down and fulfill his potential. The club got unfairly stung by Sterling. Has Mario been unfairly stung by the club? Has he fuck.

Wasnt there an issue with Bony wanting insane wages or something?

Most seem to think it was Eto'o or Balotelli.

I've stuck up for Balotelli in the past and recently, but it seems I'll have to eat humble pie on this one if that article is true. Out of order and I can see him retiring to become a nightclub promoter in Turkey within 3 years.

It really is a shame to see how his career has progressed - and he's still only 25.

That goal against Germany at the Euros - I mean, that's the kind of goal that just makes you go FUCKKKKKING HELL ... I mean, the worlds best keeper didn't even move, that's how good the finish was ... ppl will still talk about it for years to come. And only certain kind of players are capable of such things.

Such a shame.

Cassano & Balotelli are right up their in terms of wasted talent.

I still don't see the 'talent'. The talent that could supposedly make him one of the best in the world 'if he puts his mind to it'.

If it was someone like the Brazilian Ronaldo - pace to burn, power in both physique and running, skills that most can only dream of, crazy shooting accuracy, etc - was wasting away his career by being a dickhead off the field and lazy on it, I'd understand.

But I've seen him do fuck all with the ball, and fuck all without the ball. He's never excited me. He's shit. And he has his agent to thank for his hype.

I'm with you here.
Never understood the fuss about Balotelli. He has some qualities - great shot, great passes (when he cares to pass), and maybe a few more.
However; I never thought the entire "package" was that of a top player.

I never thought we should have signed him at the first place. I believed he was an accident waiting to happen. It happened pretty soon.
No point in sticking with him. We should get rid ASAP.

Mirror saying he will turn down loan moves to Italy as he is due a 6 figure loyalty bonus. My position is send both mario and fabio to Sunderland on loan.PL clubs will pay a fair price, Italian clubs I just don't trust.

Neither do I, but I'd be willing to do just about anything to get the guy out of Anfield and that includes, if it must, (a) dealing with an Italian club and (b) forking out a loyalty payment which will be far less than what it will ultimately cost to keep him here.

Italians clubs will make us pay to have him transferred, like Aquilani. We had to pay something like a 7 figure amount to get rid of him.
PL will take Mario on loan.

You're not wrong in what you say about Italian clubs, but (a) that would still add up to far less than what we'll end up paying him to carry on with his Winston Bogaarde imitation, and (b) I very much doubt he'd consider another PL club anyway (nor TBH do I reckon they'd want anything to do with him).

He's going to go full borini, refuse to shift, get a big fat loyalty bonus, then fuck off for pennies next summer with 1yr left on his contract to somewhere like Turkey.

He'll need to be careful if he does go to Turkey. Their attitudes to black players haven't always been the most enlightened and their fans aren't noted for their self-restraint. If he horses around in the same old way, the reactions to him may well turn out to be a lot less forgiving than he's encountered here.

I was wrong about Balotelli. I thought the deal represented good value...best case scenario we unlock the huge talent that's in there and we all get a chuckle at his zany antics or worst case scenario he's good for us commercially and we get most of the fee back in a quick sale to Turkey. Wrong on both counts.

I want some mad Chinese club to offer us and Mario a bucket load of cash. That might work.
It'll be a bucket load of coins as the club chairman refuses to carry any around like those elitist swine over in the wallet thread.

"He (Balotelli) clearly knows his situation and where he's at," said Rodgers ahead of his side’s meeting with Bournemouth at Anfield on Monday night.

"There's nothing to add. All of the players understand where they're at.

"My job is to create the best possible environment for the team to succeed. That's what I've always done. So I'm not going to speak about Mario when I can speak about another 25 players.

"I'll always treat individuals with respect and try to make sure they understand the situation, where they're at - it's then their choice.

"If the manager and the club give a player a situation, if they really want to play, I'm sure they'll find a solution. If they don't, then at least they know where they stand."

cancel hs contract. let him him try and sell himself wherever he wants, wont be our problem. couldn't exactly sue us given the evidence of his behaviour.

I must be missing something. What's wrong with his behaviour?

Edit: Ah, it was all on the previous page. Not sure how legit all the 'evidence' is?
