AVB sacked

Maybe you should try explaining your opinions outright for once instead of offering quip snipes. Once you do that, I will then explain to you how you're once again completely off the mark. Until you're ready to do that, people will just continue ignoring you for the troll you are.

I'm happy to sit back and let you prove we've never briefed against managers after giving them the boot, and FSG have never done it either.

Go right ahead Mystic.

I maybe wrong here but I think the big difference I see between FSG and Levy is that FSG have a lot more patience if they believe in the project. With Levy you are practically out at the first wobble.

The cornerstone of my argument is about Levy expecting too much too soon (on top of them giving the manager little control), so that's kind of the crux of the argument here.

I'm still waiting for you to actually provide an argument.

I've never much liked AVB but it's a bit unpleasant the way Spurs are piling in with media briefings against him now he's gone. A complete character assassination. They hired him, after all. That club has no class at all.

@Mystic

This is the post you quoted, and your reply to it was what I made my 'quip' about.

Nothing else, so stop backtracking

It is funny how a kind of collective personality seems to form around a club. The Barcodes have always been the ultimate bi-polar club (and not just because it's so cold there). They're either going to dominate a new European super league after a few good wins (Sir John Hall was always on about that), or they're going to hell in a handcart. There's absolutely no inbetween with them whatsoever. Spurs fans seem most comfortable as lugubrious under-achievers. As Red Astaire says, they don't know how to cope if things pick up. There's a parallel with Man City fans, but they've never struck me as being quite as mad as Spurs fans, there's a bit of humour there which always used to stop them going completely gaga.
That's funny and true. Your point deserves it's own thread to be honest. I feel Tottenham are a kind of luckier version of Nottingham Forest or Sheffield Wednesday.

I'll type this slowly.

You said Spurs were sour and small time because they briefed the media against AVB after giving him the boot.

My comment about glass houses is fairly self explanatory. Because I take for granted that people know that we've done similar and our owners are famous for it.

Peekay already gave an example Mystic

FSG are masters at it mate. Search for how they handled the departure of Terry Francona. Lot of Sox fans are still very upset about the treatment.

Maybe I'm the one who should type slowly, because you clearly managed to make a hash out of my eleven word post. I did not say they were a small minded club because of those actions, I said its to be expected because they are one, quite simple. Everything else which I've been talking about in this thread in the pages before, is why I called them a sour club, so why don't you come back once you've A, read the thread, and B, learnt how to read, although it might be beneficial to do them in the reverse order.

But if it's expected from them because they're a small time club.... Surely if we did the same...

That's his point.

If we did it and we're not a small time club, are we just big time cunts?

Have Liverpool FC actually done this to one of their managers? I mean LFC, not FSG. Anyway, the statements are separate, if we've done that, it's a cuntist thing for us to do, but I wouldn't say it makes us small minded and sour, we don't remove power from the manager and sack him the second things don't go right because we have elevated and unreasonable expectations, that was my point. Rosco is trying to put words into my mouth.

Mystic's right, in his reasoning at least. You could logically accept that acting in a certain way is a symptom of a larger disease without that symptom being proof of the disease's presence.

Eg you would expect someone with bronchitis to cough a lot, but not all people coughing a lot have bronchitis.

As I said in my previous post, LFC did participate in a bit of character assassination of Rafa mate. I am not go back and search for those news articles, but it was obvious that a few deliberate leaks had occurred.

True.

There's no way LFC would ever undermine a manager and then sack him when he didn't meet raised expectations. Isn't that right Peter ?

Can anyone who works for google erase all news reports of Rafa Benitez and Kenny Dalglish's times at LFC ?

Mystic hates Spurs so much he mentions in in about 90% of his posts he's going to say whatever helps rationalises that hatred regardless of how hypocritical he'll end up looking.

I said purely in terms of his reasoning.

Fair enough, that's a cuntish thing to do, however, its not the reason I was calling them small and sour, despite how Rosco tries to twist my words.

I think Mystics point is that Spurs are basing their decisions based on unreasonable expectations for their club. Where as we can realistically expect to achieve better.

Or something like that.

Yep, that's right, if your original point has been proven to be wrong, just keep twisting those words til they suit you.

Yes, my hate for Spurs is large, almost as large as your lust to label LFC as some con merchants pulling the wool over the eyes of us ignorant fans.

Fact is you made a statement about me based upon something I didn't say, so instead of flapping your arms around helplessly trying to distract from that point, why don't you just accept you got it wrong?

My point before Rosco butted in with his false accusations was that Levy needs to accept more responsibility and temper his expectations, instead of hiding behind the manager.

I hate the way they always bring up that Inter game. An article posted up there did, and Martin Tyler did by saying Coutinho will want revenge for what Bale did to them when he was there. You'd swear Spurs won that game, not lost it. I've never seen anybody benefit from, and hype up, a defeat so much in all my life. One of the many reasons why I hate the club.

Did Coutinho even play in those games?

Why would he leave Napoli for Spurs?! It seems that Spurs scouting policy is Liverpool for players, Chelsea for managers.

Murmurs of discontent between he & the chairman after the chairman walked into the post match press conference & started answering questions directed at Rafa & basically said that the Europa League isn't worth competing in.
