AVB sacked

I can imagine the spurs fans writing their little lists now:

"for me, it's got to be out of Klopp or Pep, defo one of those"
"I've heard from my mate that ferguson has recently bought a house in tottenham"

De Boer or Laudrup would make the most sense to me, as they both got the Ajax 4-3-3 DNA well in their bones - and looking at the 17 attacking midfielders at Spurs' disposal that would come in handy. De Boer perhaps the most talented manager of the two but he has got no experience from outside Holland which could talk against him.
But who would they build the team around?

My gut tells me they'll hire Klinsmann.

Anyway, AVB and his tactics were a joke and he deserved the sack. The board has to take part of the blame but fuck me they have scored less goals from open play at White Hart Lane than Liverpool this season! I just hope they get the replacement horribly wrong too.

Klinsmann has just taken the states to the world cup, they're in a horrible group but I'm not sure he'll go before then.

They should get Steve Clarke, he's twiddling his thumbs now.

Can't believe the Baggies have binned him already.

Murat Yakin being mentioned. At Basel apparently. I know nothing about him.

Hmm, this is an interesting one. A bit from left field, but could be an interesting appointment. Yakin was one of the Yakin brothers who played for the Basel team that drew 3 - 3 against us in Switzerland and eliminated us from the CL years ago in the Houllier years.

Under Yakin, Basel eliminated Spurs (after penalties) from the Europa League last season, eventually losing 2-5 on aggregate to Chelsea in the semis. They finished 3rd in the CL group stage this season (losing to 0-2 to Schalke in the crucial final game) so will drop into the Europa League again. I don't watch the Swiss league (who does?) but I've always had the impression from reading reports that Basel are a pretty attacking team.

Please give the job to Neil Lennon.

I could always do with another laugh.

Let's hope he is the next Christian Gross

Their spine looks pretty good in Lloris, Vertonghen, Paulinho, Eriksen/Holtby, Soldado doesn't it, and if you then add a Michu (Laudrup) or Benteke type then they'd be quite decent looking with Capoue, Sandro, Dembele, Chadli, Lamela, Townsend, Defoe, Lennon and Gylfi adding up the numbers.

Their best XI may be slightly less awesome than ours (when Suarez plays) however with much more versatility and depth. If I were a manager I'd love to work with that squad to be honest.

Paulinho looks like he doesnt want to be there though. I think he could move on next summer.

Eriksen/Holtby/Soldado big question marks all around

Lloris - excellent keeper
Vertonghen - He's good, but I think his versatility means he gets shafted to the left non-stop.
Paulinho - doesn't seem that good tbh. He's got a great motor, solid passer but he's doesn't do anything at a 'great level'. He seems like a different player for Brazil.
Holtby/Eriksen - both have shown so little ... Won't comment, but neither imo are anywhere near Coutinho for example.
Soldado - FLOP.

I like the way KHL buries Erikson in with a load of other randomly selected players and thinks we won't notice what he's done. The /Holtby thing is particularly sneaky.

Well he has to do something - since preaching the need to keep our CB partnership consistent - just before Skrtel & Sakho make a case for Neber playing Agger again.

KHL posts become like a "where's Wally" spot the hidden Dane reference. 🙂

Hoddle has a pretty poor career as a club manager though.

Has he? From what I remember he did pretty well at Chelsea (in the days when Chelsea were a bit shit and weren't loaded) and Southampton, and I don't recall him being disastrous at Spurs.

Spurs could do a lot worse than getting Hoddle back. If you overlook the fact that he is weird then he is a decent manager.
