AVB sacked

Laudrup should jump now ... Excellent opportunity for him if wants to be an elite manager ... and it would make @the_khl happy to have Laudrup and Eriksen together.

I think some people will be clever enough to see through him, but if Spurs aren't he should jump before Swansea head back down the table.

I don't like the chap but I actually felt sorry for the grilling he was getting off that fat ignorant pig Shreeves in sky's post match interview.
They never would have asked a British manager the same questions.

At least Shreeves did't put his arm up to stop him from walking away. Someone really should turn on that veal-cheeked creep on screen and say exactly what he is.

Gotta be Hiddink or Arry. Hiddink until the end of the season?

Spurs have been playing terrible though, but they were overachieving with monkey boy in the team.

I wouldn't be surprised to see them sniffing around Diego Simeone or Luis Enrique from Celta.

Why would Hiddink take the risk though? It's a lot more of a daunting task than Chelsea were, it's going to take a huge effort to get Spurs into the top four, and thats the only way the new manager would be considered a success.

Hopefully Redknapp or Hoddle.

But Capello was at the game for some reason

I think Swansea will be around 10th - though he's not done as well with that team as he should have (especially considering the money he's spent). I think he's still hoping to make a good run in Europe - and prioritizing it over the league, where they'll undoubtedly survive.

On that note - what has happened to Michu this year?

The only man with the balls to do it in the league would be Bellamy.
The day someone nuts him in the nose will be a victory for sport.
Shreeves gives me the creeps he's the Piers Morgan of the football world.

Ha! I told you before (or in the beginning of) the season when many had their Tottenham wank-fest here at SCM that AVB will be sacked before Christmas.

Laudrup wouldnt add anything new to the Spurs set up, so hopefully they'll go for him.
Capello wont leave Russia.
Hoddle is mentioned by their fans
Sherwood/Ferdinand was mentioned by Sugar
Hiddink. Great manager. Sparkling mad and earns a fortune in Russia.
Redknapp. Surley not.

Not many top managers available at the moment

Frank De Boer might be interested.
They need to sort it quick before the busy Xmas period.

Hiddink isn't in Russia any more, he's currently without a job. But he's signed a contract to manage Holland after the world cup.

I think he might take a 6month deal.

De Boer is a good shout. Hopefully they wont go for him as he looks to be a top manager in the making.

My gut tells me they'll hire Klinsmann.

Anyway, AVB and his tactics were a joke and he deserved the sack. The board has to take part of the blame but fuck me they have scored less goals from open play at White Hart Lane than Liverpool this season! I just hope they get the replacement horribly wrong too.

Brilliant! Spurs in meltdown. A 0-5 thrashing by the reds and my Empire magazine got delivered today. #best24hoursever

He has been scoring but not offering much else (and losing the ball a lot). Maybe he's just settling?

Not playing that much is he?

I was expecting him to be up there for top scorer this year though so what do I know.

fine lines i guess..if they had beaten us yesterday wouldn't we have been on the same points ? Looking at it that way it seems a bit crazy to sack him but it sounds like there might be more to it .

Laudrup never stays long managing a club ...i'd be surprised if he's at swansea next season .

It is a bit of a joke that Hoddle's been out of management for so long. He'd improve England vastly if he took over from Hodge tomorrow. Mind you, most would. But Hoddle would make sense as a short term manager. He'd also be one of the few options who wouldn't demand to bring a couple of coach loads of 'assistants and analysts' along with him.

De Boer or Laudrup would make the most sense to me, as they both got the Ajax 4-3-3 DNA well in their bones - and looking at the 17 attacking midfielders at Spurs' disposal that would come in handy. De Boer perhaps the most talented manager of the two but he has got no experience from outside Holland which could talk against him.

I am surprised to see AVB get the sack this soon as has been said already, on the other hand that was horrendous from them last night and when the same happened at City a week back I can perhaps understand why someone pressed the panic button.

No matter what happens it does seem a bit premature, but most likely, at least short term, in our favor.
