Can we be sanctioned? What happened when Man United didn't play in the FA Cup?
Dont know what happened then but it fairly fucked the FA cup forever.

I highly doubt it.Can we be sanctioned? What happened when Man United didn't play in the FA Cup?
It was visible to me. I re-watched the game today, he was very industrious and linked up well for the most part. Yes, his final ball wasn't great and he didn't show his killer touch in the box but hopefully that will come after he adapts to the step up in quality/intensity. I was impressed by his display.I've spoke to two mates who went the match now, & listened to the post match podcasts, & everyone who went the game think Brewster was good, bar his final product.
Makes me wonder if he did a helluva lot of work off the ball that we couldn't see on telly.
So, according to Chris Bascombe (no matter what his reputation, he has solid sources), it seems like the club are actually considering an idea I posed earlier today, albeit half heartedly, in that we could actually play both competitions when scheduled, using the 'b side' & pep for the League Cup & the 'a side' & Klopp for the WCC.
I doubt we'll do that, it's easy to see that it lessens both competitions, our ability to compete in them, & also reduces the chance we have of giving some key players an additional break of sorts under cover of the WCC.
Regardless, its interesting that it's being looked at seriously, & we'd make history if we actually did it.
It's the club that proposed it apparently. That's absolutely crazy; even when we played MK Dons there was significant overlap between the PL/CL and and CC squads. No matter how you slice it, this would disadvantage us in both competitions. I think it's these kinds of suggestions that pissed Klopp off so much.

I can't see the EFL suggesting we send a 'b side' sans klopp to play in their competition.
I can't see it happening full stop though, they'll just push the game back & rearrange the semis.
They speak their own language in Cork.
Think he meant played against Dreamy. In fact I'm sure he meant played against.
It's hard to know what to do with Origi.
You know you need better but then he goes and wins you a game like this.
I'm not at all sure that's the reason why he seems to be prioritising the FIFA pot. We'd be sanctioned, probably quite heavily, if we didn't turn up for that. Neither matters a hoot AFAIC but if I had to choose I'd put the Carabao Cup ahead of the other one, as it would give last night's team another chance to get game time.
You left out Jones
He's in contention for Saturday, all the LFC conspiracy theorists on twitter are now saying he fakes injury everytime he plays bad haha.Any updates on wee Naby?

Keep him. He’s done it too many times now to be overlooked as a fluke.

I hope he isn't in contention. He's shit

We need him to be good as that midfield is going to get stretched the next few months. I'd have him starting games like tomorrow to see if theres any chance of him picking up form.I hope he isn't in contention. He's shit
I really really really want him to be good, but he’s just not and it upsets me.
I have to say that I'm mighty impressed with Jones. When I first saw him for the u18s I saw some technique, ball control and all that cool stuff but he looked like the usual, you know, Cristiano Ronaldo wannabe winger. So my initial thought was *sigh* another Adam Hammill, Ryan Kent etc basically players so driven by instinct that they can't drastically change their game.
However, with Jones I've seen some real improvement. Suddenly he's a driving force in the middle. He doesn't dribble that much any more, he picks his passes, wins balls and plays with a sense of calmness. I'm really starting to think that he'll make it. While many of us were swooning over Elliott, this kid has shown he can be just as influential.
I really hope he keeps following the path his on.
