Well, since I obviously have to point it out because of ridiculously unfunny mods..
Are we done in our potential challenge for 4th?
No. We're not done. There are 37 games still to be played for one thing.
Spurs squad looks much stronger obvs, but people are then taking it for granted that all of their players will settle instantly and be a success.
Soldado could be a Morientes and Willian could be another Carroll for all we know. Long term injuries etc.
But the most important thing is the loss of Bale who won them 10 points with his late goals last season.
I see Spurs as an improved team but without that extreme matchwinner.
Spurs may be favourites but we're far from done. Fail to sign 1 or 2 quality players in the next few weeks and we're probably done by Christmas/January though..
*Jizzes into sock*
I'm done.
Oh, sweet, innocent Oncy.
if only you'd done the schrooms I had.

Every fuckin time!! Ryan comes up with an original, witty, relevant response..
I'm in awe. Again. When will I learn to expect this.
Such a knob
On paper, it does seem like an uphill task but if we're just going to look at transfer dealings to gauge the possibility of achieving success, then we might as well give up totally. I mean, under the current regime, we'll never be able to outspend the likes of Man Utd, Man City, Chelsea, RM, Barca, BM, PSG, Monaco etc. We have no chance of winning anything given the signings they made/can make.
In 04/05, we brought in the likes of Cisse, Alonso, Garcia and Morientes. Everton who finished ahead of us in 4th, signed Cahill, Bent, Arteta and Beattie. Real Sociedad's notable signing last season was Carlos Vela and they managed to seal 4th spot too. I'm sure we can think of more examples.
Our rivals can't sign all the good players in the world. The world won't run out of good players. The likes of Porto, Shakhtar, Udinese and Dortmund can testify for this. The club might as well just rely on football games' player database to look for quality, proven players if they aren't qualified or prepared to do a better, more thorough job in their search for talents and ideal signings.

As Woland would say its great in the days of lowered expectations.
Montpellier won the league because they were competing with one decent team, Dortmund play in a competitive league where one team is stronger than them.
Our league is more like Scotland or Spain where you have teams above us with infinite wealth.
Building a squad is great and it could get us top 4 like a napoli or udinese, but what have they won?
When did Atletico win the league?
