Had been listening to people talking about him for about 18 months prior to that game. Some saying he'd never make it, some saying his body wouldn't stand up to the rigours of the game week in and week out.

One comment made me follow him and anticipate seeing him in the premier league - I can't even remember who it was. The comment was " he can do anything on the field but all he wants to do is play for the team he's supported all his life."
