Anelka, in January...

He has looked after himself, he remains a class act as Sunny has said. He loved the place when he was here, it's a no brainer.
Regards

He's been told he can leave Chelsea. So on a free, with reasonable wages, I'd give him a 1-2 year contract all day long. He's still worth 10-15 goals a year and another 10 assists.

absolutely.

Redknapp's in for him - on skysports website. The usual 'triffic player' and 'will have to speak to the chairman' bullshit.

harry wheeling and dealing has his team in 3rd and a win will take them 2nd.

VDV - 8 mil
ade - loan
great business for two top players

Of course he is, and the stick he's taken in this thread is so behind the times it's unreal. Nico wasn't remotely @rsey when he was with us the first time (Robbie's book is full of special pleading and IMHO he doesn't come out of it that well) or with the clubs he played for after us, even though he didn't want to be there, and he hasn't been for the Chavs. If his head's right, our people are satisfied with his form and the price is right, I'd take him back in a New York minute.

He was a bit with Bolton...

I can understand why he tried to force them to sell him, but he still did it (again).

He scored 16 goals last year. Has only managed one this year, but has been used mainly as a sub.

I wouldnt be against it, as he has experience and is a proven goalscorer. If Andy Carroll and Kuyt continue with their form infront of goal we certainly need to add some firepower to the side.

We also lack someone who has the experience to finish off our chances, and he ticks all the boxes.
Short term contract with little or no fee, hell yes.

If we get CL, then we can add a really quality attacker in the summer.

We should blow our budget in january on a winger with pace. Hoilett would be my choice.
If Lucas is out injured for a while we also need a DM.

Everyone is having a wank about Hoilett, who no doubt looks exciting, but I havent seen anything in his delivery that stands out yet.

Is he another Nzogbia waiting to happen (ie great when the play goes through him 99% of the time, and when he doesnt have to pass, but becomes shit in a better side?).

What I really like about him is the pace and directness, and his ability to take players on a get past them.
I was sold after the game we lost at Ewood last year were he created a couple of their goals.

Anelka - we could do worse, we could do better. Depends what other options are. But we already have a 32 year old striker with bellamy...

We've only scored 3 goals once this season. That's a massive problem. Creating chances hasn't been a problem. Anelka has always scored well when given good service. It's a no brainer really.

He's been playing as a midfielder for nigh on 3 years now. The days of him playing on the shoulder of the defenders and finishing those chances you talk about left his game years ago.

I like him, great footballer, but he'd be looking for massive wages, and I'd probably prefer we directed that elsewhere.

Plus, and we are talking 10 years ago, but for fucks sake how many times was he offside??!! Seemed about 16 times per game.

I'd imagine the last two maxi goals, after great passes from Bellamy, being disallowed because of the stupid Frenchie marking the goalpost. no ta.

This can only be believed if he was interviewed through his car window whilst he was on the phone to someone else.

hahaha.

In a statement on his official website, Anelka wrote: 'I've known for a little while where I'll be on January 2.

'The club, which is going through a difficult time, has decided to work with Chelsea's players of the future and, as I am a good professional, I have accepted this.'

Anelka is a good finisher and still is quick enough. With big Andy struggling, Anelka can do a good job for us and get us CL footy. I like a front 3 of Suarez, Bellamy and Anelka.

£4M for possible CL entry is a small price to pay.

No No No No No

Incidentaly he's been quoted as saying he already knows where he's going.

Given that PSG have more money than sense I'd be putting a wee bet on Paris.

Hasn't he been linked with a move to China? Wonder if he will sit out until his contract runs out or make his next move in Jan.

came from anelkas twitter and translated on some chelsea fan site:

Je ne joue pas, je ne parle pas mais je suis forcé de constater que vous n’arrivez pas à vous passez de moi…
I am not playing, I am not speaking, but I feel obliged to point out that you will not manage to do without me!

So, I feel entitled to react if you don't mind too much (This is heavy sarcasm)

I have only recently found out where I will be as of the 2nd of January.

The club, which is going through a difficult time at the moment, has decided to do business with the future players of Chelsea. and. as I am a great professional...

I accept this decision. I don't know Troussier but I have always made my own choices and accepted responsibility for them, and I have never waited for advice from him.. (note Anelka has misspelt "Conseils"! OK so I can be pedantic in both languages)

So he's not worried about me. Thanks to you all. (sarcastic - thanks a bunch)

From that I can only see that he knows he wont be at chelsea, but it could also be taken to mean he has a club already lined up

I highely doubt it will be 4 mill tbh. 32 years old and 6 months left on his contract.

I'd take him as a short term option. No doubt. The january window is difficult when it comes to getting your targets, Suarez aside.
