Confirmed by the fact you spelt his name wrong 😉
Haha! I thought there might have been a J in there, but yes your point speaks volumes!

maybe not the worst player we've had but surely a contender for "pound for pound worst value deal ever " .

Someone needs to kick his crocodile shoes up his arse . Might wake him up .

I've never seen a worse player in our shirt.

He's a poor footballer with no touch, no brain, no pace, no skill......

We were desperate and got well and truly mugged.
I presume that you are either:

a) 14 years old or
b) pissed when you made that statement
When you add the price into the eqauation, it's not far off the truth. If we'd paid £10m for him people would be feeling the same, the fact is we paid more than it costs for a player like Aguero, or Tevez. What's false in the statement? That he's the worst player to play for us? He's got no heart, no desire, no brain and he appears to have lost all footballing talent. It's rare I turn my back on a player so soon, but I can't remember a bigger disappointment pulling on the red shirt.

He's shite.

when it comes to strikers I think a team needs to have as many strings in it's bow to cover every eventuality with regards to breaking down a team.

pace
stength
aerial ability
finishing
dribbling
hold up play
playing between the lines

so while I definately think we sould have the option to select the big target guy so we could (for example) pepper the opposition goal with crosses in the last 10 minutes. we've paid 35m for our 'option' because that's all he is, an option. he is in no way shape or form integral to set up or style of play. we've essentially paid 35m for someone we don't actually need 90% of the time, and that just brings tears to your eyes.

I think we've disproved this big target man theory with Suarez and Torres, both have played upfront for us with aplomb. A good first touch counts for alot. It's no good being able to hold off a player if you need time and space to control the ball.

it is a good option to have though, for instance if we are playing a team that will put a lot of crosses into our box at the end of the game to nick a point. I'm not saying I want such a player to play week in week out or for the full 90 but it is a good option to have. the more options you have the less predictable you become.

I don't know if I'm done with carroll yet, but suarez has 3 games left of his ban to serves and what has carroll done in the time suarez has been away?
maybe we should get rid regardless of how much the buying team will drive down the price (which they will) cut our losses and move the fuck on.

We should cut our losses. Unless something drastic changes in the next few months, then we should swallow our pride and admit defeat. As for the point about a team throwing crosses into the box late. We just throw Coates on then!

I agree with your coates point.
kenny may decide to give him (carroll) another try purely based on his age (he is only 22) but in truth I don't think there will be loads of transfer money in the summer so I think if you are looking at players that contribute little but will get a decent transfer fee then carroll definately falls under the catagory

Messi scored a great header yesterday. He scores a surprising number given his height.

It just goes to show that there is no substitute for technique, movement and awareness.

I actually think carroll is one of the best headers of the ball I've seen, at least I did at newcastle.

I'm still holding (due to his age) that Carroll will come good.
the only way carroll is going to come good (at liverpool) is if we build our team around him...fuck that!

I'm not as sure as I was but I agree, I think he'll be a good player for us.

I agree. We just need tell him to stay by the box.

I still think kenny is telling him to play rushy tactics of coming back and defending from the front. He just hasn't got the pace for it.

The statement "I've never seen a worse player in our shirt" has nothing to do with the stupid money we paid for Carroll.

True, but that was a prediction- and we've all backed a loser, haven't we?

He said from watching him as a young player coming through he was the best he'd seen. Technique, power, accuracy, all that. He didn't say that he thought he'd be the best, but that he actually was the best header of a ball he'd ever seen. Hyperbolic? Probably.

Is it true he fucked off at the full time whistle straight to the dressing room whilst the rest of the lads celebrated on the pitch?

That's what 5 live are saying?

Time to cut our losses, sell the cunt if true, it's obvious his heart isn't in.

To be fair he came on with like 2 min to go as a time wasting exercise and got some stick from the crowd

Shit attitude if true though

I still like him and hope he plays on against the scum

He had to get the ale in for the Police horses down the Nags Head.

I'm sure they are shitting themselves

At the end, he held the ball up well and laid the ball off to Henderson down the wing, and then instead of busting a gut to get into the box he fucking practically stopped, lazy cunt.
