He's one of the most bewildering forwards I've ever seen. Even Heskey had more fight in him.
[/quote]

"bewildering" is the right word.

The only explanation I can relate to is that his head's just not right. He just doesn't want to be here and as much as he tries to put that to the back of his mind (and I think he really tries), he can't.

The signs were all there before that he's not a Henderson-type model pro, but it can't be simply his general lifestyle. For whatever reason, he feels this is the wrong club and regrets his move. He'd flourish once again at Newcastle.

Said exactly the same thing whilst watching the game. He just doesn't look like he can motivate himself to play for any team other than the one he supports.

Spider - you are fucking unbelievable.

I'm desperate, I'm trying to look for positives here.

Andy Carroll is looking like the worst purchase LFC has ever made.

And there is some FIERCE competition.

Oh yes pound for pound he has been the worst.

Don't we already have about 5 threads on how much of a flop Carroll's been/is???

Don't see the need for another of the back of a match where many of his team-mates were much more to blame than he was.
- Likes of Johnson, Enrique, Gerrard, Adam, Henderson.

He's been a total disaster but it's wrong to single him out after that shambles.

We could have had up to an additional 5 points if we had brought in a new striker as soon as the window opened

The easiest way out of this is tapping Ba up and swapping him for Carroll. Whether you want Ba or not.

If it comes to cash, no-one is going to stump up much as (1) they know how desperate we are & (2) they know how shit he is.

Looking at him now, adding in the slightest hint that he may still have some untapped potential, what would you pay? 7M, 8M?

If we're lucky.

Former German international Hamann was annoyed at the striker’s apparent lack of professionalism during his 31-minute appearance in last weekend’s 0-0 draw with Stoke.

Speaking at the Football League headquarters in London, ahead of the Carling Cup semi-final second leg between his former clubs, Liverpool and Manchester City, Hamann, 38, said: “There was one incident against Stoke which annoyed me.

“He slipped three times and then he changed his boots, so he’s on the touchline for two minutes. This is a lack of professionalism. I had steam coming out of my ears. This isn’t acceptable.

“The club has shown tremendous faith in him by paying that money. Liverpool could have waited until the summer and got three players for that money. Kenny and the fans have shown tremendous faith. Now is the time to deliver.

Does he want it badly enough? Liverpool fans see the potential in him, otherwise they may have given up the ghost, but if they do turn he may find it even harder to score.”

Hamann is also critical of Liverpool’s decision to wear T-shirts defiantly supporting Luis Suarez before the match at Wigan Athletic.

The Uruguayan striker is serving an eight-match suspension for allegedly using racist language to Manchester United’s Patrice Evra.

Hamman said: “The T-shirts were a bad move. I don’t see any reason to do that. Liverpool has always been known to stand by its players, which is the right thing.

“But did the club hear all the evidence before they put the T-shirts on? I don’t know whose idea it was. It sends out the wrong message.”

will we ever spend as much as 35m on a player again ?

I Strongly doubt it .

I just can't let go of the thought of what we could have got instead of him (or downing or henderson or ..... clusterfucked the whole thing we did )

He had a good first half yesterday and did all the things he should be doing. He looked more determined to win the ball, did some good flick ons and put himself about well, that pass he played for Bellamy was exquisite aswell. Trouble is, he still looks short of full match fitness and in the second half he faded back into his normal, lazy self.

As a few people have mentioned , he seems to have done alright in the 1st half . But was that by his previous standards or was it the performance of a £35m striker or a Striker we want playing for us ?

Well this is it, I thought he looked the closest he's looked to the Newcastle player we signed. I've got no sympathy though nor do I feel any encouragement, the fact is he's been shit and lazy. The first is bad enough, that's our mistake, the second is his and for any red, is totally unforgivable.

I'm not having Andy's performance yesterday was good. In the entire game he touched the ball 30 odd times won 2 headers and made one decent pass the rest of the game he was the usual Andy. Wrong positions, awful touch, constently getting outmuscled. Lets not forget who the opponents were.

His best and only good performance was City last season. Why can't he show this every game..... Actually I'm not greedy maybe one in every three games.

x2

He scored a few goals at the start of the season that were ruled out for offside, an alleged foul or for some sort of reason...I just wish those had counted as it could possibly have given him confidence and self belief to kick start his Liverpool career, now it's looking very doubtful.

He jumped for one cross about 10 seconds before the ball arrived. He's in a shocking state mentally.

Andy Carroll is a very good footballer, never worth £35m but easily in the £15m-£20m bracket. Stewart Downing is a decent wide player but worth about £10m not the £20m we paid.

The problem is they're been managed badly and playing well below the required standard.

If Martin O'Neill or Harry Redknapp were in charge of our current squad we would be right on the heels of the top teams.

Nobody is saying his performance is good. Why do people do that?

And FWIW, he also had a decent pull-back/cross to Bellamy, too.

Send him and Benderson back to Newcastle and Sunderland, get about 20 million quid, spend it on Torres and Ming and pretend all this silliness never happened.

Christ it's a wreck the head ...not only was he a waste of 35m but the need to accommodate him has lead to the signings of shite like downing and fucking about with the team tactics to try and force this shite system to work .

i don't give a shite about the money , fuck them all out , the useless average premier league fucks .

who we never should have sold

Neither are good enough.

For a shithouse no 9 style striker he seems to have an amazing aversion to getting into the penalty area - what is the point of flying in the crosses when he is lolling about outside the area, I can't recall ever seeing him busting a gut to get into the area. He either has a heart the size of a pea, or a brain the size of a pea. I think we mostly agree he is an inept footballer - but is he is also a coward or just plain stupid as well. Time to cut our losses turning away the interest from Villa could cost us alot.
