So lets say Rafa sacks it off and goes to Madrid in summer.
Heres 4-4-2's up and comers.
Laurent Blanc - Bordeaux 1 league title, 1 french cup.
Mauricio Pochetino - Espanyol.
Slaven Bilic - Croatia.
Gian Piero Gasperini - Genoa successive serie c and serie b titles.
Roberto Martinez - Wigan.
Markus Babbel - Stuttgart.

Any of those take your fancy?
 
One man for me and it has to be Mourinho. We need a proven manager think it would be to much of risk if we brought in an unknown. Although i do like Martinez and the football he has wigan playing.
 
I love this Maureen thing that people cackle on about on here. We're flat shit broke but we can pay up Rafa (+Sammy et al), sort out Milan with compensation AND pay Maureen and his girls the salaries to which they are accustomed too.

I reckon our maureen would take a cut to come to Anfield, was it not in Carra's book where Carra says Maureen has the Liverpool badge as his phone screen saver. Also can you imagine what it would do for his Ego to 1. get one over on Benitez and 2. Be the first manager in 20 years to win the leauge for Liverpool. He surely couldn't resist that.
 
Has Bilic ever coached a league team of any kind? Top leagues like the Premiership or La Liga etc, obv.

Given that various clueless bellends over the years have made a case for the likes of Juande Ramos, Curbishley, Steve Nicol, Ranieri, Spaletti, and fuck knows who else, no recommendation would surprise me

the compensation excuse for not sacking him is a bit of a red herring actually. it's not all due upfront nor is x% of it due when rafa gets a new job. even i don't think he'd be out of a job for long.

we could get away with paying him and his team less than 75% of the numbers being thrown around.
 
if there's £20m at stake i'd look at other options to get rid of rafa. it's not like he doesn't deserve this...£1m to our chief scout to falsify a report about the next maradona in colombia. send benitez out there to have a look, £1m for his p.a. to stuff £1m of cocaine into the lining of his suitcase. An anonymous tip later and its all done and dusted. Then we can afford mourinho

That's who I'd want. Mourinho's a proven winner (and I certainly wouldn't flatly turn down the idea of him coming to LFC, as some on here would), but Hiddink's got an excellent record in the game too AND is much more my idea of a Liverpool manager.

I just don't see where Hiddink gets this amazing Rep from. He's like the likeable loser he gets teams to edge of winning things but then doesn't. If you look at his manager record, hes won the dutch leauge an Euro Cup in 88 oh ye and the FA cup. He's never won any other leauge. I just don't get the Hiddink love in with the press.

The only managers that wouldn't really worry me are Hiddink and Capello. And they're unavailable.

He's doing well in the Champions League as well.
