Not strictly a transfer story, but Bryan Robson is believed to have turned down the chance to coach Iranian Premier League club Persepolis Tehran, preferring to stay on as an ambassador to Manchester United.

Made me laugh anyway. Let's face it not the most appealing destination for a Brit at the moment is it ?

He's thick enough to have given it serious consideration. What's most amazing to me is that they made the offer in the first place.

Persepolis isn't as bad as the rest of Iran in regards to Islamic fundamentalism even though they do the whole prayer over speakers thing 5 times daily,it is one of the regions that held onto it's Persian roots as much as it embraced Islam,if Robson had gone he would be treated like royalty as he would be considered a guest of Iran

Yup.... they are a HUGE club in Iran, along with Sepahan.

Iran has had plenty of coaches and managers in the domestic league that originate from countries Iran may consider allies of the West.
