I disagree with that comparison.
Sheyi Ojo netted a fine double as Liverpool U21s turned on the style to sink West Ham United 4-0 at Upton Park on Friday night. Michael Beale's side produced a fantastic performance with Ryan Kent and Samed Yesil also getting on the mark.
......... a delightful pass from Yesil gave Kent an opportunity but the outstretched leg of Raphael Spiegel denied the 17-year-old, then Yesil controlled a superb Connor Randall pass before firing a blistering effort against the bar.
Beale's side opened the scoring after 13 minutes with a goal of the highest quality. A lovely pass from Ojo found Kent who timed his run to perfection before sliding the ball beyond Spiegel.
England youth international Ojo scored the goal of the night on 26 minutes when he curled home a magnificent effort from 25-yards out into the back of the net.
The pace and direct running of Kent and Ojo caused the West Ham defence problems all night and with the movement of Yesil in attack, Liverpool looked likely to score every time they came forward.
German striker Yesil, who was making his first start since returning from a long lay-off, made it 3-0 on 37 minutes when he stole in to net after West Ham failed to clear following a corner.
The second half was a much more tight affair but with the excellent Cameron Brannagan controlling the midfield Liverpool always looked likely to score again.
Vigouroux, making his first appearance of the season since completing his summer move from Tottenham Hotspur, was determined to keep a clean sheet and he showed his qualities with a brilliant save off Lee's header.
Beale's side added a late fourth goal when Ojo raced on to a sublime pass from the oustanding Kevin Stewart, before slotting past Spiegel.
It was a great night for the young Reds in their first Barclays U21 Premier League game since August 22.

McLaughlin injured again. But he's not injury prone... No definitely not.
Such a shame a year and a half to two years ago I thought if he improved his defending he would be the next player after sterling to break through. And there was an opening that summer. But now Johnson, Manquillo, Flannagan, Wisdom are all ahead of him and Randall is a far better defender so I wouldn't be surprised if he is ahead also.
Rodgers quotes after the dortmund on his type of fullback were interesting with the emphasis placed on defending "He’s the type of full back I like. He can get tight to people, can stop crosses and defend well, but also has the energy to go and attack and get forward."
Ojo easily the best player on show tonight. He can be top class.

Went to see Brentford v Brighton. Teixeira played on the left of the front three. He put in a lot of work in pressing the Brentford defence. He looked good on the ball and a great piece of skill set up their second goal ( though it was a hell of a shot from the lad). I thought he was their most creative player and was surprised when Sami subbed him with about 15 minutes left. A year or so ago Teixeira had endured an unhappy loan spell at Brentford, in which he looked like an overwhelmed kid. This display was testimony to the massive progress he's made in the last year.

Nice goal that, good build-up, great cross by Hart for Sinclair to tap in. Goal had been coming for a while now; good that Sinclair scored that after missing an easy header opportunity earlier on.

It feels weird but it feels like a long time since I saw a goal like that from us at any level. 😀
And 3 - 0 now with some crisp passing and finishing. Could well be heading for a cricket score if this keeps up. Hopefully the seniors can emulate that later.
Sam Hart is an odd player to pick out for praise. I've never seen him show anything like first team potential.
Coming up to the hour mark and still coasting with good possession football. Kent (on the right) and Sinclair (on the left) showed off delightful training ground stuff with quick spins to turn their opponents. Rossiter showed he's been studying the old DVDs when he produced a carbon copy of Gary Mac's free kick against Everton; this time it just went wide of the post. Still 3-0.
Ojo's maturing nicely. He's gone from being quite a selfish and blinkered young player to one that's increasingly aware, clever and a good team player. He's dropping slightly deeper in today's game, making himself hard to pick up, and is threading some nice through balls through to Sinclair and sideways to Wilson.
Fairclough is moaning a bit that the team hasn't been more aggressive and urgent in the second half, but personally I don't mind this. Unlike the senior team in recent games these lads are holding on to the ball, using the width of the pitch MUCH more and keeping the ball moving whilst resisting the temptation to play a rash ball when the space isn't there. Yes, we should have scored a couple more, given our superiority in terms both of pace and skill, but at 3-0 up it's nice to see the team maintain possession with such ease. If you're aiming for 'death by football,' this is going to progress the players more than the odd extra goal.
Full Time: 4-0. A very mature, disciplined, comfortable performance, with ruthless finishing in the first half followed by a relaxed display of possession in the second half (and as goal difference may come into play at the end of this group stage, a clean sheet was very welcome, too). Some fine attacking play on the wings by Sinclair, Kent and Wilson, with Ojo and O'Hanlon contributing some telling assists in and around the area. Rossiter, the captain, was a calm and clever presence in midfield, as usual. No real weak performances, just a strong and very professional team effort against a slower and technically less advanced side.
