strange - 100 million for 30% would mean they value the entire club at under 350 million.

Oh look! It's rage! Coo-eeee!

*waves*

Hi rage, when did you get back, you cheeky little monkey?

VQ, it says they are willing to reduce their holdings to 35% each, so each selling off 15% of their shares. The potential investor will then own 30%. But under ownership rules (as we are seeing with Kronke at Arsenal), once you own 30% are you not obliged to attempt a take over and buy out the remaining shareholders?

I cannot understand why they would move to do this now instead of in the summer. Even the most wasteful of managers would struggle to spend £100 million in a January transfer window. The only players available are shite or have been stirring trouble.

More made up press speculation me thinks.

With public companies, yes.

However the investment vehicle which onws LFC is a private company and so therefore not subject to the same regulations.

Thanks mate, wasn't sure on the business law of it all.

And if £100 million = 30% , then the clubs value is £333 million. Surely they have had offers for more than that for the club, and turned it down. Sort yourselves out you pair of retards, and fuck off.

I'd like to think it would get the stadium up and running and at the same time sort out our balance sheet so we can borrow a bit to cover the rest of the stadium
Ideal world yes. But reality will probably be to just balance the books and see if we can get into the top 4 again next season.
this season is not over yet Pat..

I wouldn't see the point of them losing stake to generate funds if it wasn't to improve the team in order to ensure CL qualification for next year; and therefore preserve value. So, surely, it will mean them throwing some money at transfers. Otherwise, it's stake lost/diluted.

Thanks old chap ,

the 100 mil will not buy players I imagine maybe 20m for players and the rest to start the stadium

there are some good players available in January, for example Chamach at Bordeaux if they will let him go (if not sign him for free in the summer), possibly we can use Valencia connections to get Mata who has 18 months left on his contract but will cost some money and i'm sure there's other options that aren't bad. If not we should be looking to tie up deals for the summer at the very least.

My hunch is though from the summer is that the yanks are happy not to do -anything- and don't care if the squad suffers as a result, they've not shown any indication they're willing to invest in players since Keane was sold so don't get your hopes up, right now if anything I can see them selling players and replacing them with no one

Building the stadium would make them a lot more money than improving the team. It would raise the price considerably should they choose to sell the club and obviously increase match day revenue. We would also make more money by hosting events such as World Cup matches and concerts etc

Maybe. But it might mean dropping out of the 4 and the CL to do that. Will they go for that?

Hicks has already said the money is primarily to reduce the debt so as to fix up the balance sheet to enable them to get the loans for the stadium. Whether recent results change that or not remains to be seen. 35% of an additional 50m in stadium revenue is much better than 50% of no stadium revenue.

There's too much regulation around football and too much visibility by stakeholders (e.g. RBS) into exactly what we are up to financially for us to do a Leeds. BUT if the stadium is not built soon we could easily end up outside the top 4 and having a very very tough time getting back in.

oh i see great unity in the dressing room right now. unquestionable loyalty. great team spirit. yea its all there.

do you really think anyone is going to give him another say 20 or 30 million to spend in january?

rafa first of all needs to change his formation to accommodate new players. which striker is going to come to sit on the bench? which winger is going to come and be told he'll have to play second fiddle to dirk and riera and when they get a game be told that they need to forget their natural game and spend more time defending?

4231 should only be kept for the big games where all our star players are fit and then only if aqulani is upto the challenge.

we need to change formation that will accommodate a second striker and an offensive wide player first else all we'll attract is average squad fillers - last time i looked we had plenty of those already.

Your first line is your opinion (which has been discredited, but that's another matter).

The rest is nothing to do with the point in hand.

And again, you fail to back up your statements with a source. Or is it still "wait and see" since Rage is the only man in the world with this inside info?

say we could get the stadium started, and we can get 25 mill for players. who do you want? remember you can't raise the wage bill by much.
