am I correct in seeming to recall that Shelvey and sterling were not really Rafas signings and more to do with Kenny at the academy.

Don't think so...

Benitez - who has signed highly rated Charlton midfielder Jonjo Shelvey, 18, and 15-year-old England youth international Raheem Sterling from QPR recently - says the club have a long-term plan to bring "British players with passion" to the club.

Liverpool signed 18-year-old Shelvey from League One side Charlton
"(We want) players who you can feel what playing for Liverpool means to them," said Benitez,
"Shelvey is one of these and we have two or three names ready so we will try to do the best for the club.
"I was trying to sign Gareth Barry before and Glen Johnson was the same idea - we have this long-term plan in place and we will try to follow the plan."

THE BOY IS 16 YEARS OLD. (Birth date 8 Dec 1994)

He's playing with and against kids that are 2 years older than him

Re: Raheeeeeeeeem

I'm gonna be rad and say this...

Unless Suso learns to add some English flair into his game, he'll soon find he'll struggle to make the grade up. He's nowhere near ready for the EPL yet, let alone the first team.
Don't get me wrong. He's got bags of potential but there's something lacking about him that doesn't convince me yet. He is however, ridiculously young so he's still got years on him to improve.

Raheem on the other hand excites me a lot. I think it's worth a shot to bed him into 1st team games now. Between him and Suso, there's something about him and his game that just seem more ready for the next step up.

The concept of 'English flair' is indeed rad.

I knew someone would pick me up on that.

What I meant to say is he needs to beef up his game, stop taking ages conjuring Hollywood passes and develop some pace for goodness sake.

For a player like Suso it's vital to improve his tempo. He can become the next Fabregas.

Re: Raheeeeeeeeem

He'll be playing for Colchester by the time he's 18 knowing our fucking luck.

The club needs to sign up MilanKakaBaros. His awesome Youtube compilations should put a couple of million pounds into the price tag of the deadweights we want to move out.

I joined his facebook crew and his videos are ace.

Re: Raheeeeeeeeem

I've said it before but what stands out when watching Raheem is his amazing close control. I'm almost tempted to say it's world class already.

I don't want to get too excited but he really really looks like the real deal.

Wow, you really do look like Shrek.

Re: Raheeeeeeeeem

I know he looks small, but I actually think he has grown since we got him. He looks slightly less tiny. Could we slip him growth hormone on the sly?

If we can find a pic of Raheem's mum we'll have a good clue. Men *always* grow to be taller than their mums, so if his mum is a decent size we can rest easy.

Re: Raheeeeeeeeem

Sterling work from young Raheem.

I don't see how size is that relevant. If you're good enough then you're big enough.

Maradona, Messi, Keegan; I could go on but you get the message.

Agree Bologna, but he was impossibly tiny when he came, making those guys look gargantuan by comparison. As I say, I think he's grown a bit though.

i think he's definitely grown a bit - besides, he's never going to be tall enough for it become an asset, so we might as well stop worrying and enjoy the benefit, namely his amazing balance. as long as he fills out a little bit more he'll be fine.

oncey - yeah i know the £40m think sounds nuts, but fuck it man, i think it'll happen. i bet you he makes the WC squad in brazil.
