I think if we saw the mancs' youngsters performing like ours this season it would send a chill down the spine, because we'd fear there was a new generation of real players emerging. You tend to doubt it more when it's your own team. Obviously, you can't ever tell which ones will come through and become first team regulars, but this is a very, very promising bunch of players.
Yes, I know what you mean. For a while now I've been saying this is an exceptional group, but you never quite believe it until players start making the first team. Now we've got Sterling, Suso, Wisdom, Robinson, and Shelvey all contributing well, and plenty of others of similar potential waiting in the wings, it does start to get pretty exciting.
Everything seems to have come together at the right time. First, after a long period of famine, we've finally got some good local talent coming through (Robinson, Flanagan, Morgan, Dunn, Lussey, Coady etc), secondly that largely coincided with the improvement in coaching etc after Segura and Borrell came in, and thirdly the policy of signing the best available from elsewhere started under Rafa and continued under Comolli/Dalglish has really worked well (Sterling, Suso, Wisdom, Ibe, Teixeira, Pelosi, Ojo, Sinclair).
The combination means a pretty amazing array of talent. The only downside is that it might be so successful that it lets FSG off the hook of their mismangement and lack of spending on the first team.
