Youth / Reserve Team Thread... 2010 - 2013

Pelosi's impressed me. Hasn't missed a single tackle and forever on the move. He's developing well.

N'Goo's couldn't be anymore like Crouch if he tried. Pacheco classy in flashes.

Adorjan disappointing.

Adorjan makes it 2-1, a great little bit of McDermott-style movement to slip into the box and receive a through ball, and he fires it in via a deflection in 60th minute.

Brilliant goal from Pacheco in 63rd minute to make it 3-1. He nicked the ball off a defender midway in their half, runs into the area, goes round the keeper and shoots past two defenders to score. Very good composure and maybe a sign of what he's learned from Suarez this season.

Teixeira scores to make it 4-1 in 71st minute. Lovely team goal, and great for this lad who looks like Suso's younger brother and has great technique. He's had a shaky start but that will do wonders for him.

And Ibe immediately takes the ball down the left, cuts a beautifully weighted ball into the area for Ngoo to score the 5th in the 75th minute.

Great stuff this in the second half. Something I really like about Ibe as well, he's just got that touch of class. But they've all done well, obv.

Like the first team, the players still look a bit unceratin at times bringing the ball out from defence. Unlike the first team, there are goals all over the pitch when the midfield moves forward.

FT Wolves 1 LFC 5. Ngoo and Pacheco doing really well up front, Adorjan good behind them, Sama (who can't be that far from a Euro outing) as strong as usual at the back. Excellent cameos from Teixeira, Ibe, Nacho and Pelosi. Some lovely movement and passing. Well done to Borrell for whatever he said at half time when it was 0-1. Great signs of team spirit as well.

I agree. He deserves more chances I think. He's working hard and he's learning and improving, no doubt about that.

i forgot about tex and nacho, they're meant to be quite good, how old are they? still look like reserve players? also didnt borrell leave or am i thinking of someone else?

You're thinking of Segura, maybe? I think they're 19 - probably at the stage Suso was a year or so ago. Very promising.

Texeira has missed quite a bit so will need a year or two to settle - definitely another very tidy player in there though.

I thought Pelosi looked the business first half, real signs of improvement. Decent second half too.

Ngoo's a likeable sort. So much ability with ball at his feet despite his gangly frame.

Pacheco? A cut above reserve level but yet to be convinced he's a Liverpool player.

Ngoo will never be the poster boy for tikitaka teams with 'false 9s' but I hope that won't damn his chances completely. He's unusual and different in a good way, and he's improving all the time.

I think if we saw the mancs' youngsters performing like ours this season it would send a chill down the spine, because we'd fear there was a new generation of real players emerging. You tend to doubt it more when it's your own team. Obviously, you can't ever tell which ones will come through and become first team regulars, but this is a very, very promising bunch of players.
