Happy To Announce The Signing Of My First Professional Contract With Liverpool Football Club. #LFC

[article=http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/12040/9078762/transfer-news-liverpool-hand-professional-deal-to-ryan-kent]Sky Sports understands Liverpool and England youngster Ryan Kent has signed his first professional contract at Anfield.

The 17-year-old is an England youth international and is rated very highly by club and country.

The attacking midfielder has been with Liverpool since the age of eight and it is now hoped he can join the list of academy players who break into the first-team.

He is looking to follow on from the likes of Raheem Sterling, John Flanagan and Jordan Ibe, who have all broken into the first team under Brendan Rodgers in the past 12 months.[/article]

[article=http://www.thefa.com/news/england/development/2013/dec/u18s-squad-named-for-january-training-camp-181213]England U18s will meet again at St. George’s Park in January for a training camp ahead of the second half of the season.

Head Coach Neil Dewsnip has picked a group of 22 players for the three day camp, following on from two similar meet-ups earlier this year.

There are several new faces in the group for Dewsnip to work with too, as Portsmouth defender Jack Whatmough, Liverpool midfielder Cameron Brannagan, Hartlepool midfielder Bradley Walker, Bolton striker Tom Walker and Peterborough United duo Tom Conlon and Jermaine Anderson are all called up.

Dewsnip, who will be joined by assistant Noel Blake and goalkeeping coach Tim Dittmar, will meet his squad at SGP on Sunday 5 January and work with them on the training pitch until Tuesday 7 January when the players return to their respective clubs.

The Young Lions played two games against Hungary behind-closed-doors earlier this year, winning 4-0 in their second game.

With no competitive fixtures for the U18s age group set by UEFA or FIFA, these camps offer an opportunity for the coaches to work with their players ahead of next season’s U19s schedule.

The Squad

Goalkeepers: Callum Burton (Shrewsbury Town), Ted Smith (Southend United).

Defenders: Kyle Knoyle (West Ham United), Reece Burke (West Ham United), Max Clarke (Hull City), Ben O’Hanlon (Wolverhampton Wanderers), Ben Wyatt (Norwich City), Brendan Galloway (MK Dons), Jack Whatmough (Portsmouth).

Midfielders: Bryn Morris (Middlesborough), Reece Brown (Birmingham City), Bradley Walker (Hartlepool United), Cameron Brannagan (Liverpool), Dele Alli (MK Dons), Tom Conlon (Peterborough United).

Forwards: Tom Walker (Bolton Wanderers), Dean Rittenberg (Blackburn Rovers), Jerome Sinclair (Liverpool), Bradley Fewster (Middlesbrough), Demari Gray (Birmingham City), Jermaine Anderson (Peterborough United), Ryan Kent (Liverpool).[/article]

can someone give me the lowdown on brad smith - how good is he, can he become, and what pro does he play like the most?

Smith vs Villa U-21s, a few weeks ago. Strong and pacy, likes to join in the attacks, decent crosses and a pretty powerful shot (not in this clip but he scored a beauty on his return from injury, and then I think another one a game or two later).

A couple of the young guns training with the seniors in midweek. Like Rossiter last week, first time I've seen these lads in pics of the first team training.

Teixeira... with Coutinho, and Suarez.

Jack Dunn! This is an unusual one. His minutes with the U-21s have been reduced this season with Branagan's promotion and Teixeira's unsuccessful loan; he's been sitting on the bench a fair bit, and I think someone posted a tweet from him recently about it maybe being time for a change in scenery. I like his energy and leadership qualities he shows on the pitch. Seen here with future captain candidate Henderson.

Really hope Teixeira makes it here, he looks an exciting classy player form the bits ive seen, its a pity in a way we didn't have Europa league as we would of gotton to see some of these youngsters playing in it.

I disagree. Both have huge potential but Smith links closer to realising his at the moment.

I'd say Smith is potentially the more exciting player just because of his pace. He's a whippet. They're both great prospects though.

The 18-year-old is a former Manchester United trainee but has impressed since making his debut in October.

Fulham are also interested in a move for the teenager.[/article]

They're very mature characters for their age - a great demonstration of the academy's schooling of the kids. Bradley Garton was particularly good at the presser.

Brimmer & Rimmer - should like a great partnership.
