We're becoming a selling club or in any case appearing like one.
Explain how "we're becoming a selling club" please.
Other clubs see it as a pothibility they can lure our best players.
And I mean other clubs that have no history or a tradition of winning big trophies.
These are clubs that have just money to show.
As we keep failing trophies and now being out of every competition before christmas, our tradition is no longer sufficient enough to keep players let alone attract top players.
Our players are tempted
Its time for a change.

'Waffle waffle waffle, history, tradition, some other fucking bluster.. waffle, waffle'

It would have been quicker to type "I can't".

I still don't get why dislikes Obama soo much ltw
1) nice post there. where did I say I didn't like him in this ?

2) Though themn & brendan (they are only separated by their lucas feelings) likes to paint me a certain way (it's funny to read but rather off), I feel about Obama like I do/did about Bush I, Clinton, Bush II etc. I'm sure you get the point ...

3) Squigs made a point about 'Politician X bleating on about change and doing nothing,' so I compared it to Obama ... Nothing wrong there, I mean he did win a much deserved Nobel but he's done little for change (bar some great speeches and the health care reform, which is still on shaky grounds it seems) - and that's the 'tune' I hear from most of my friends (Intellectuals, non-'ruling class', liberals and generally decent people) in the States who voted for him .

4) It is rather nice however to see Asim, Brendan and Themn so happy together at least we knows what unifies them ....... hmmmmmm ............. hmmmmmm ...........

I find it interesting that his approval ratings have sunk to near 50% in the United States. Meanwhile a new survey confirmed he is the most popular politician in Canada (along with, presumably, everywhere else in the world).

Is the Emperor wearing new clothes? Do his poor ratings in America simply reflect the country's deep divide? Tune in next time, same Obamachannel, same... oh you get the point.

It's rather obvious why his approval ratings have tanked and why he's so popular around the world ... I think he can reverse the opinion poll within the US - but only time will tell:

In all honesty he's done nothing since he came in. Simular to the actions of a lying cunt. But wait... he's black i take it back. He's the best thing since sliced bread.

On topic though, it'd be madness to let Yossi go.

1) nice post there. where did I say I didn't like him in this ?

You have not said you dislike him in this, just another few sly little digs in at Obama, any possible opportunity you have to have a little dig you do. Which is fair enough, if you don't particularily like him then fine, all I did was ask a question.
If you want to get sensitive about it then go for it.

So the point is that you dislike all American presidents, I know we have had conversations about this before but you are very vague about this so all I did was post my musings.

3) Squigs made a point about 'Politician X bleating on about change and doing nothing,' so I compared it to Obama ... I'll do Red for Liverpool. I have digs at most leaders, including my own. Most of them, even ones I respect and who have led the past 'decade', have been very poor

It has nothing to do with them being 'American', it has to do with idiotic policies - in general - that I think do more harm than good. And unfortunately, being a super power, that's part of the territory which is why I don't fault 'em for it

3) Squigs made a point about 'Politician X bleating on about change and doing nothing,' so I compared it to Obama ... Chill out dude, I meant OBAMA. I'm not back tracking on anything - I think I know why each poster likes Obama. All assumed I have an issue with Obama because of his stance on Israel, which is not true. Do I have an issue with how Obama is handling Israel? I guess, but I cannot really fault him - it's his job to do what's best for his country - internally and internationally, and that's the path he has chosen. I hope he succeeds if it is to bring peace but I'm highly skeptical ... as I'm sure you are. All 3 of you painted my dislike for what Obama stands for based on my country of residence - hence that united you. Perhaps the wrong word, but that was the honest reason for my comment

I think Letall's had a bee in his bonnet about me and Obama and everything in general when I mocked Israel's stance re: Gaza invasion and stated that after a meaningless show of "might" from Israel, the US would tell them to pack it the fuck in and do as your told, and Israel would do exactly that within a few days and claim that the withdrawal was all planned, and that the invasion achieved all of its objectives and was a huge success.

All of this happened in that exact order, and in that time-frame.

Letall seemed unhappy I was right. How come he hasn't got used to it yet?

I don't particularily think he is amazing, and I don't particularily dislike him. he was clearly the better option but whatever.

I didn't paint your dislike for Obama cos of where you live. I said he has made comments about settlements in Israel but you have shown a dislike for him before he made those comments, suggesting it might not have been those comments and your dislike was from before.

I'm not sure clearly, but I tend to agree (though in recent months, a few Democrat voters have told me they voted Republican because they found McCain a very liberal Republican who had more experience blah blah - just found that interesting)..

Brendan,

I don't even know where to start. Seriously. I couldn't care what your stance is wrt Israel/The Arab world, the only issue I take with you as a poster is your unnecessary attacks on everyone. That's the only issue I have with you -

To be honest, I really don't remember much of how the war ended (or when the US asked us to do anything). I cannot really be bothered to see if you're right or not because it's irrelevant. If you're right, sababa (cool in Hebrew). If not, I guess sababa too (though I somehow doubt you're ever wrong so it's irrelevant to!).

Brendan, Israel is a rather small country surrounded by enemies and unfriendly countries who would happilly destroy it anyday once they feel they can.
Israel was never an empire and never pretended to be one. It is only natural that Israel relies on its great friend friend, the US. In such releationship it is only natural that when the president of the US asks the Israeli PM to do something (which in most cases is pre-coordinated between them) the Israeli PM listens and acts.

Your country on the other hand used to be a great empire, the ruler of the seas. Still when George Bush called the UK to join the coalition, her majesty's PM (John Major I believe) sent his troops to the Gulf. Then when called to help in Afghanistan your PM (Blair I believe) obeyed. Then in the 2nd gulf was Blair was there again. In all 3 cases there were large parts of the British public who thought these were "unnecessary attacks" (did you?), yet Uncle Sam calls and her majesty's armed forces are sent.

Is the might of the British empire still being applied in Iraq and Afghanistan? it definitely is (I'll leave it to you to decide if it is meaninful or meaningless). Will you "pack it the fuck in and do as your told" once Uncle Sam decides. I think you will.

See any analogy to the US-Israeli relationship?
