We'd be fucking mad to sell him for 8 million euros.

Seconded. Yossi's not a squad player. Based on the past two seasons, I'd say he's the 5th or 6th most important member of our first team, after Gerrard, Torres, Reina and Mascherano.

I know a lad who has a business that Yossi frequents, last time I was in, a few months ago, he said then that Yossi was starting to feel a bit unsettled

So he'd prefer to play in Moscow in a favoured position than playing various positions for Liverpool? I don't buy it. If one of the European giants was in for him, well maybe, but Moscow? Na.

Perhaps so, I can see a logic, better to be a big fish in a little sea than be fucked about

If I was him, I would think twice before moving to a country with as much racial tension and widespread antisemitism as Russia. Of course every country has their share of idiots, the difference is, in Russia government doesn't give a rat's ass about such matters. They will not do much to protect him.

Yeah but he's skinny, gaunt-looking and has floppy shit hair. Hide that hook-nose, and he'll fit right in.

Selling Yossi for 8M would be a big mistake considering we turned down 9M for Babel.
I don't see the correlation.

Dreamy, what are you on about?

I didn't see the correlation between Babel's proposed transfer and that of Benayoun's, still don't, and you came back to me with a smiley face.

Hence the ensuing confusion.

I presume he meant it would be foolish for us to sell Yossi (important player for us) and keep Babel (not as important).

I would say it was obvious I meant that.

Why in the world would be sell a very solid squad player who gets goals and fills in a number of positions. Yossi has been excellant anytime he hasn't played on the left this year.

Babel on the other hand has been rubbish all season long.

So it makes no sense to sell one of our better players this year when we can get more Babel who has done sweet f*ck all this year.

The reason why they're valued differently from a financial sense is quite simple really.

One is 23 and cost us 11M
The other is a few months away from 30 and cost us 5M.

It becomes complicated though when you consider the young one is shite and the older is decent. Funny old world.

It seems an unlikely move for Yossi, unless vast amounts of tax free cash were on offer; even then I can't see a good Jewish boys head being turned by financial gain.

I don't see the logic either, sound as it may seem Ryan, is quite so obvious.
I think their worth to us at this moment in time is fairly basic in the equation. Yossi is still very influential and one of the few players we have that can unlock a defense and is likely to be a factor in any outside chance we have at gaining fourth place, and retaining any small financial clout and pulling power we might have, Ryan (Babel) on the other hand is not worth a blow on a rag-mans trumpet , as only ever makes the bench.

Like it. There's a scrappie lorry which occasionally comes round our way playing a recording of a bugle sounding a cavalry charge. It always gets all the dogs in the neighbourhood barking.

Liverpool star reported to have agreed personal terms with another club

Liverpool midfielder Yossi Benayoun has reportedly agreed personal terms with Dynamo Moscow according to the Russian club’s sporting director. The 29-year-old Israeli was linked with a £7 million move away from Anfield at the beginning of the week, and it appears the Russian giants have progressed further than many had anticipated given the midfielders standing with Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez.

The former West Ham star has emerged as one of Liverpool’s most consistent performers despite their meagre form in the Premier League, and he is undoubtedly one of Rafa Benitez’s most trusted players. Dynamo Moscow suggest they are yet to agree a fee with Liverpool, but have an agreement in place with the player and now want to negotiate with the Premier League club.

The Liverpool midfielder was offered a similar deal by Spartak Moscow last summer, however he instead signed a new contract at Anfield. Reports suggest Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez is extremely reluctant to lose the midfielder at such a crucial stage of the season, however the arrival of Maxi Rodriguez would represent a like for like replacement. Benitez would reportedly consider selling Benayoun if the funds earned from his sale could be reinvested in his squad.

Rafa Benitez is allegedly keen to bring a striker to Anfield and has been linked with Sunderland’s Kenwyne Jones, Tottenham’s Roman Pavlyuchenko and reputed Manchester United and Arsenal target Klaas-Jan Huntelaar. The Liverpool boss would entertain parting with Benayoun should he be able to sign any of the aforementioned forwards in order to shoulder the burden currently placed on Fernando Torres.

Dynamo sporting director Konstantin Sarsania told a Russian website, which is picked up by the Daily Mail: “We came to an agreement with the player's agent. Now everything depends on Liverpool's position.â€

“I don't think there will be news on Wednesday, but in the next two days the situation should be clarified.â€

According to the Daily Mail, Benayoun has agreed terms on a three year deal believed to be in the region of £75,000 a week and given the tax rate in Russia, that is a significant improvement on his current Liverpool contract.

It's BS. If we let him leave aswell without having Arda Turan or something lined up, Rafa has lost every marble that was left.

Don't think he'll be leaving unless as Hansern says, we have a replacement lined up. Surprised he'd go to a Russian team but the money they're offering there is huge and he'll have a mate (Voronin) ...

If he is going for money it is understandable.
Is it? I'm not sure it's a massive increase, even with tax breaks, and does Casper strike you as overly money-oriented?

Fact is, I'm not that arsed if he goes, he's not great, however what would worry me is if this is driven by the fact we would get a decent cash fee for him, rather than what he or Benitez want.

Maybe Benitez thinks he can use Maxi instead, and pocket (or not) £7m.

Either way, it's not like we have an overly strong squad as it stands.

I didn't even think of that possibility - but that makes sense (in a sad and 'oh shit, we're in a really really bad state' way)

I don't think this will happen - a) Yossi has just established himself as a key member of the squad - b) he's still young enough to play at the top of his game in this league for a few more years before taking a 'paycheck' move c) as far as I know, he won't move to Russia (but hey may have changed this stance)

I was hinting at a bad taste Jew joke. But anyway, I'm not arsed as long as a replacement is lined up before the end of the window.

Liverpool have today dismissed reports that midfielder Yossi Benayoun could be set for a transfer window move to Dynamo Moscow.

Moscow Sporting Director Konstantin Sarsania has reportedly claimed agreement has been reached for the Israeli international to leave Anfield, but the Reds have insisted the 29-year-old is going nowhere.

"The player is not for sale, it's as simple as that," said a club spokesman.
