Newcastle fear Yohan Cabaye could buy out his contract to force move

Newcastle worried that Yohan Cabaye will exploit the Webster Rule to buy out his contract for less than £6million

Newcastle United could lose Yohan Cabaye for less than £6 million if the France international tries to exploit a clause that enables him to buy himself out of the final two years of his contract.
Cabaye, who went on strike at the start of the season in an attempt to force Newcastle to accept a £10.1 million offer from Arsenal, is looking into the possibility of extracting himself from a contract that runs until June 2016 under the so-called “Webster Rule”. Under Article 17 of Fifa’s transfer rules, a player can cancel a contract “without just cause” and pay his employer the remaining value of his deal, allowing them to join another club on a free transfer.
Cabaye earns around £60,000 a week at St James’ Park, which in theory would allow him to become a free agent if he pays Newcastle Unitedroughly £5.76 million in June. Interested clubs may even offer to compensate the 27-year-old for that loss of income if they are able to sign him as a free agent.
Some clubs insert additional clauses into their contracts to guard against players leaving like this, but Newcastle have refused to comment when asked whether Cabaye is able to take advantage of the Webster Rule.
Owner Mike Ashley will certainly be alarmed by the prospect of losing a player he values at around £20 million for less than a third of that. Newcastle would want to maximise their profit on a player signed from Lille for just over £4  million in 2011.

Newcastle are interested in signing Montpellier forward Remy Cabella, but would like to offload Sylvain Marveaux to make room for him. Marveaux, rarely been seen this season, earns £50,000 a week on Tyneside, which is likely to put off interested clubs, but he is open to offers.

Bullet dodged re Marveaux, would love to have Cabaye in our team. Our set pieces would improve for a start

They'd be even better with Cabaye.

For shots on goal, Suarez is the best in the league (joint with Yaya Toure), for deliveries into the box, Gerrard is one of, if not the best in the league. Maybe corners? But Coutinho has been pretty decent at them recently.

Newcastle are fucking clocks and deserve it if they keep allowing this shit into contracts.

What next, you can leave if you buy a round or drinks and pork scratchings for the team.
