Yesil

He's the one striker at the club who really senses what space in the area he should run into. He can ghost into places where a chance arises. He can shoot from outside the area, he can exploit fast counter attacks, he can do all the tricks but at his best he's also ruthless at sniffing out chances in the box. The yawning gap in the area that we usually see when our attacks break down - that's waiting for Yesil.

First goal at about 3.20, second at about 5.30 here:

Two cracking turns and that is the sort of finishing we sorely lack in the 1st team. Maybe Yesil can give some lessons to Sterling & Co. ?

It's also a sign of how sharp he is that when a shot doesn't quite come off - say he goes to slip it through the keeper's legs and it catches a foot and rebounds - he usually follows up and scores. He has very good balance and can switch his weight really quickly and react to rebounds to mop things up. He's got good ball skills and can score lovely goals but he'll get the messy ones, too.

I'm very much on the Yesil bandwagon. We need a player like him and if he makes it after two torn ACLs in a row then his nerves (if not his knees) are made of steel.

I have my doubts on him because I think he is injury prone I hope I am wrong. I would like us to get Charlie Austin and then spend money strengthening our midfield.

I think you usually attribute injury-prone to players with muscle issues.
He's only been out of action through two seriously unlucky injuries so we really don't know how he'll turn out. Maybe he's young enough to get fully healed, while a player in his mid-20's might never recover properly, like Fowler and Owen.

Fuck Michael Owen.

Play him in the remaining games..

Lets see whats in his locker..

We might have something to smile about come the end of the season...
